It isn't that he doesn't want to play for a D-Leauge team. As I understand White have sent a document to Morey and David Stern which include agreement on improving the right and condition of treating players with mental illness. IMO, there is a very slight chance that Morey will sign it, but there is no chance that Stern will sign it.

Ok I understand that, but what about his negotiating for playing time at start of the season? Did he give any document then to either Morey or Stern? I picture it like this:

RW: I want to play 25 min/game for Houston!
DM: Do you have clearance from doctors for that?
    RW: Yes!

    5-6 weeks later...

DM: Ok you will pay for Vipers. Do you have clearance from doctors for that?
    RW: No!

so what exactly changed in those 5-6 weeks? Houston's approach to RW's illness?
You say he'd play for Vipers if Houston signs a document. But he was willing to play for Houston 6 weeks ago without any document signing?

I hope that doesn't mean the Rockets gave in to any of his demands.

Well this is either very good or very bad. He is either going to show up in DLeague or filing a lawsuit. I hope it's the former but fear it's the later. It won't be until he is out of options and money will he start to compromise.

if he files a lawsuit, I don't see him winning, but that lawsuit would be ugly and would drag, its a lose-lose situation for both parties involved, and Filing a lawsuit would symbolically end his NBA career

Wouldn't his lawsuit be against the NBA, not the Rockets specifically?

I think so, might also include the Players' Association,at least Mental Health Lobbyist/ activist groups has yet to join the issue, or else this would get really ugly

Since his request violates the terms negotiated by the NBPA and the NBA yes.

He's probably just working on his Anxious Imaginer-Bum Manifesto. Next he is going to show up at the Toyota Center wearing an incense vest and threaten to read imaginer poetry to passer-bys.

Alternatively, he could just be preparing his a 197-tweet review of the latest Twilight saga as a metaphor for mental handicap. "O the horror! O the beast within!" #angstvampires #bepale
