    US is Israel's greatest ally, but what exactly have Israel ever done for the US to deserve this unconditional support all US politicians in high place must give?

    This whole thread shows how skewed US politics are when it comes to Israel. There are a lot of issues regarding Hagel that are noteworthy yet focus is on his position regarding Israel. A position that has another poster noted isn't actually anti-Israel but a supporter of Israel considering how many funding bills he has voted for Israel.

    The more criticism I hear of him, the more I like him. Doesn't slavishly cowtow to Israeli interests -- cool. Admits that senators are bullied into supporting Israel -- I agree. Doesn't think war with Iran is a good idea -- awesome. Questions the wisdom of escalating in Iraq. I like the pick.
