Am I wrong or does it seem like Royce's goal is to keep his contract and get paid while not working?

The funny thing is he's up against a formidable adversary in Morey cos that's the last thing he's going to let happen. Morey already has to take a hit with picking a bust. I can't imagine he'd take the hit in having to pay him his contract.

This isn't going to end well for White.

I believe they did but in his curious case there is 100 fold more baggage than the average talented Joe

This was pre Harden so I am not all that mad, it's a mistake.....
Personally I would want Morey to comment on it some time later, I hate it when he is saying... this guy is top 5 talent, top 6 talent on my draft board
In a deep draft nearly every guy up to the late round is talented.

Admit the mistake when all is said and done and don't draft/acquire guys like Thabeet, Flynn, Twill, White in the future. I hope

This time the diamond was made out of glass and it looks like it is going to shatter.

Morey wins some but sometimes he just gets a DUD.

The link here is worth clicking and reading. Apparently, White is demanding that everyone signs some document, and the issue is that the Rockets have been unwilling to do that.

Screw this guy, think of it like this.. IF he figures this sh/t out and becomes an ok roleplayer sometime in the future there is no way he will resign with us anyways after all this. So as far as I'm concerned he is worthless too me. It's going to take time to develop him into an NBA player and by that time he won't resign. SO other then a trade he holds no worth to our team, he isn't even good trade bait. Let him sit, sue him for contract issues or hold on to him to stagnant his growth until we need that roster spot.

Everyone is delusional to think he will stay in Houston when his contract is up if there are other similar offers. Accept we lost a pick this year and lets stop wasting any more valuable investments in this unstable player. At some point in his life he will have to man up, hopefully it's not on our dime.

That and be honest, you CANNOT rely on a player with extreme mental and anxiety issues to carry your team not only through the playoffs but through the finals

Can you imagine Royce at the free throw line in Game 7, 2 point game with .5 seconds left away with 20k+ fans against you?

Yawn. Once Royce realizes he isn't winning this I predict he'll experience a "Major Breakthrough" in his condition.

If not then best of luck to him in his future endeavors.

They wont because they cant. It goes against the CBA put in place by the master himself and the players association. They legally can't and should not signed it if it violates the current CBA.

So there you have it. This is going to drag until next year most likely because now it has to unless Royce somehow decides he's going to give up... which certainly doesn't seem likely.

The Rockets have suspended him so I believe under the conditions he recieves something like 50% normally, but in this unique case, Im not sure he will recieve anything. Those terms though are most likely disclosed.

What a freakin mess. See ya in Summer League next year Royce.... maybe.

Quoting myself in case some of you didn't realize this was an attempted jab at the Rockets and Leslie A. rather than support for the entitled brat Joyce White.

You must spread some reputation around before........
Interesting read. If this is the case, I wonder why he is choosing to vindicate only the Rockets and not each branch of the league. The more that surfaces the more Royce looks illogical.

According to a person familiar with the situation, White wants the NBA, the National Basketball Players Association, the Rockets and himself to sign a document detailing his wishes for the mental health protocol, and White has told the Rockets he won't show up for work until all parties sign the document. The person spoke to USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity because the document was supposed to remain confidential. The person added that such agreements are banned under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement. According to the uniform player contract detailed in the CBA, "no amendments to the form of the Uniform Player Contract provided for by Section 1 of this Article shall be permitted," and if a team or player agree on such an amendment, "such Contract or subsequent amendment, as the case may be, shall be disapproved by the Commissioner, and consequently, rendered null and void." USA Today

    Houston Rockets, Royce White

Another person who requested anonymity because of the sensitive situation told USA TODAY Sports that White insists he wants to play. USA Today

Number of views for threads on first page that

    includes White
    ~410K

Conclusion: Royce White, the most famous rockets in the current team, and probably the most famous rockets that never played a regular season game.

I went to school with a guy who had a note from his doctor saying that he had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Anytime he didn't feel like coming to school, he could just present that note and it was an excused absence. Of course, excused or not, he eventually fell behind and ended up dropping out. It sounds like White is asking for something very similar. And it would probably be in his best interest that he doesn't get it.

Doesn't sound that's the road block or the issue - sounds like it is the CBA.

Sounds like Royce White is being OCD and wants a very particular set of rules in place. Honestly, if he really is OCD - it can be very difficult for him to function if he isn't able to feel comfortable. It takes years and years to over come that stuff, and it won't help him to force himself through it.

In any case, the stuff people are tweeting at him is pretty awful. I understand people's frustrations, but c'mon, some of that stuff is stuff you shouldn't say to any human being. And a lot of it is racist/homophobic/misogynistic.

I sure hope it's not Rockets fans putting that stuff out there.

Uh-hunh. Well, Royce, here's a dream and an opportunity for you: no more cashing checks you don't earn.

I had a significant other with anxiety issues. Believe me, I hope Morey is preparing to cut the cord. Sorry; it never gets better.

Cut the cord. FAST. The Rockets have a decent shot to make the playoffs as a lower seed; they don't need this clusterf**k of a distraction.

I don't think Royce White will play anymore in the NBA. For ANY team. His career is already likely finished.

I think it has a lot to do with White Tweeting in the 1st place. He should of kept the issue between himself and the organization.

If you decide you want the whole world to know then you better expect all the hate. Considering there is about over 100 million guys a lone who wish they were signing a multi-million dollar contract over a "GAME"

I agree even divorces from ex-spouses aren't final, plenty of 2nd nuptials happen.

Hard reality is going to set in, he didn't graduate college, he's got no job skills other than playing bball and he's got a well publicized anxiety disorder. I see him eventually accepting assignment to the D-League with the Rox making some small concession to him so he can save a littlle face.
