Any competitor would want to be out there. Shannahan should not have had him out there, but this was 100% approved by the grown ass man who was out there. He didn't just get ran in to the ground.

If he followed these rules, Royce White wouldn't have an NBA contract.

If I were a Rockets player, I wouldn't want Royce anywhere near me, cos' the guy may shoot me whenever he feels his anxiety gets to him.

    Not enough information

Does White still get paid when he is suspended?

Why suspend him for a week instead of suspending him until he reports to the D-league?

Who pays White's salary if we cut him and another team picks him up?

Is there any path that can be taken where Houston has a chance of redeeming some measure of what they gave up in terms of a draft choice and money?

A worse case scenario would be to release him and have him go to another team and be a star and thorn in Houston's side for a decade or more. The best way to make sure that never happens is to proceed down a path that would make White too toxic for another team to ever take a chance on him. I would go ahead and take the option for another 2 years on White just to make sure that he can't go to another team for 4 years. If he realizes that he isn't going to be able to play basketball for 4 years he might change his attitude.

ASM is one of the largest sports agencies out there. They are legit for college players looking to go in the draft. However they really do just specialize in the draft, marketing their future players well during workouts, and negotiating rookie contracts. As far as litigation beyond that, Im not sure they are that experienced, but they do a great job with their clients and the draft/rookie contract.

More than likely if this went to court, they would advise Royce to bring on a more experience attorney in these matters I would assume. They would get eaten alive in court by Stern and the NBA attorneys(some of the most well-known and shrewd lawyers in the US).

I don't agree with Royce and the actions that he's taking to get what he feels he deserves. However, Morey deserves this headache and everything that comes with it. The draft scout who convinced him to take Royce should be fired, becuase it's quite evident that they did not do their homework. A simple questions, why would you draft someone who is afraid of flying, which is required for 34 games out of the season. He can actually drive to San Antonio, Dallas, New Orleans. We would only put up with this for Lebron or Durant.

Don't cut him, keep suspending him until he reports to D-League.

I posted a while ago preaching patience with Royce but I also said he MUST report to D-League before joining the team. Less travel in D League, send his Dr. there with him, set him up nice but make sure he knows there is no path to an NBA career that doesn't go through Rio Grande Valley and McAllen, Tx. Period.

Other than that, just let him determine his own fate and stop worrying so much about this situation! Have any of you considered that if he got less attention and was forgotten, he would be less likely to stick to the hard line he was stuck to? This is simply pride.... Royce and I were in the Big 12 together and I wouldn't want to be publicly humiliated and admit defeat amidst all the fanfare at our age. It's much easier to concede behind closed doors in your "crusade" than in front of everyone, teammates included, family, and fans included.

    CLUTCHFANS!!!!!!!
Stop the threads about Royce, stop the coverage and questions to sports radio, unfollow and stop tweeting him if you really care about the Rockets. This team is growing before our eyes, and if Parsons develops a consistent shot and we don't try for Rudy Gay, this might be the best team in 5 years and we are posting thousands of posts about a player not interested in helping this amazing effort.

Suspended until he reports to Rio Grande Valley. End of story.

Rockets have the right approach, have to treat Royce like a child, do no reward bad behavior or you end up reinforcing it.

Does Royce want his own docs to be able to declare him unable to play on any given night so he can sit out and still get paid like a regular injured player?

Morey's whole philosophy is making lots of high reward, low probability, low risk moves to get a star(s)

No big deal if Royce doesn't pan out, frequent (but not hampering) failure is built into the team's strategy.
