I've seen this comment a lot in other places, but Alabama would have been undefeated anyways.

Johnny Manziel is what VY was to UT. Greatness.

He makes 2.5 mil. For a big time college football coach isn't competitive. That is 25th place.

A lot of Aggies and bitter UH fans were saying Sumlin was a bad hire. He couldn't run his offense. They wanted an "SEC" type of coach. I just hope he gets the credit he deserves.

Manziel really does look like Tarkenton when he runs, just faster. RG3 has a lot more pocket presence to me. He stands tall and you're terrified he's going to burn you with a long pass. Newton had a lot of designed runs called for him. Manziel makes something out of nothing a lot more, like Vince Young. Don't be fooled by last night's game, TAMU doesn't normally run that much option.

Sumlin seems to downplay Manziel's success and spread the love. I like it.

Good point, but I don't think TAMU would have been undefeated anyways. It took them awhile to get into gear on both sides of the ball. One of those nutty offenses would probably have put us away earlier in the year. There are just too many dangerous (not good, I said dangerous) teams in the Big 12. Now if you took the current TAMU team and put them in the Big 12, yeah, they'd be undefeated, they'd be a 1-loss team at worst in just about any conference right now. They are clearly the hottest teams in the nation right now.

Yeah, I was wrong. In just a few months Manziel has me eating crow but I can't think of a QB that has ever improved so much over so little time. He's come such a long way from the guy I saw play Florida. If he continues to get better at this pace he'll be unstoppable next year.

Cam, as noted, runs like a power back. RGIII is amazing speed. Manziel is crazy shiftiness, Barry Sanders like. I'm sorry I don't have better comparisons b/c I wasn't alive in Tarkenton's day, so he doesn't count to me :) Not saying Manziel is as good as Sanders, but just that his running style is similar.

It's amazing to me how accurate and how much touch manziel has on his deep ball. The guy can run like the wind, throw bullet passes, and drop a beautiful deep ball with touch. Just an amazing player. And he's only a freshman. smh

I have deep ties to Texas A&M in other ways. I did an internship there, my sister graduated from there. I went to UH for undergrad & graduate school. Love A&M, Love Sumlin. Did you go to UT? Didn't think so.

Interesting, I am a UH grad also, but I always cheer for the Aggies unless they are playing the Coogs. My son-in-law is A&M graduate and huge fan, so I join him in watching and cheering. All my grandchildren wear Aggie stuff, so I am along for the ride.

No reason to be defensive, just wondering. Just an odd place to be bashing UT fans who seem mostly supportive or at the very least congratulatory of the Aggies' success. At least in my admittedly limited exposure. I think the Aggie haters have long since eaten crow and the remaining haters are few and far between. The relationship between the two schools almost seems like a sibling one now that they're in different conferences.

The win last night was exciting. It truly is remarkable the season they just had. It's a lot of fun to root for a Texas team in the SEC.

Yeah that was weird. The first question after the game they asked him, he talked about everyone but j.m., so they asked him a 2nd question prodding him to say something specifically about him, & he just said it's not about any one individual, team effort etc.

    Big 12, Big 12, Big 12!

(For those who don't remember, Skyrim beat his chest all year about the Big 12 being superior to the SEC, telling us to wait until bowl season. Now, the Big 12 is done with bowls and has a losing record (4-5). They also got to watch their top two teams (OU/KSU) get ambushed in big games. One of those against a lowly SEC team. Oops.)

Do you really think that's how the word is spelled?

Heaven help our education system if so.

A&M picks up their 35th commit(yes, 35th) at the Army AA game in WR Tony Stevens(from Orlando; previously committed to Florida State).

I love UT fans who were taunting OU fans after the game.

One, OU and Stoops own the Longhorns.

Two, the team they were rooting for is now THE PROGRAM in the state of Texas.

Rumor has it the Aggies have flipped Jordan Mastrogiovanni from OU, and Quincy Adeboyejo is decommiting (and possibly heading to Lubbock). Sumlin did just tweet a "YESSIR", which is his sign that they've gotten someone, but no concrete names yet.
