To beat the CHEATriots You have to start by denying them THE TAPE That said. 1. Hit Tom Brady early and often --- Even if it is not a sack . . . bump him and keep him off balance 2. Win the Turnover battle .. . by win I mean we give up NONE! --- esp not in your area of the field 3. Long Drive. --- I like the 80 yarder to Andre as much as the next fellow but I don't think we want to get in to a track meet. 4. TDs >>>>>>> Field Goals --- We simply have to cash in our opportunities. 5. Ram the ball down their throat! --- Not only with Arian but the other backs as well. 6. SCHAUB - Spread the ball around! --- Give some to everyone . . .Arian, OD, Dre, Graham, Walters - I think the offense is best when it is not so easy to predict where the ball is going 7. Bend but don't break. --- Make Tom Brady have to work his way down field. No big plays. Long Drives. Make him impatient I know some of these are pretty generic. . but please add your own Rocket River
Get pressure with the front four. To have a shot against the Patriots, it's as simple as that. The teams New England struggles with are those like the Giants that can push them up front and get pressure without blitzing. Even as recently as a couple weeks ago, the Patriots struggled mightily against the 49ers with Justin Smith in the game (3 points in first 2.5 quarters)... then suddenly torched them when Smith left due to injury. You can't consistently blitz Brady. He'll kill it. The occasional disguised one is fine, but it won't bring continued success. When the Texans forced several 3-and-outs and took Brady out of rhythm in the second and third quarters a month ago, it was because Watt got to him on almost every passing down. I think J.J. will do his job again, but the keys to the game are Antonio Smith, Shaun Cody/Earl Mitchell and Connor Barwin. If they're getting penetration, the Texans have a shot. If they aren't, we don't -- no matter how well we perform elsewhere.
* prepare for the blitz. the hoody blitzed 60% against us than he had against any other team they faced all season, that was not a coincidence. like mayock and unlike his detractors, hoody knows that if you keep schaub clean, schaub will spread the ball around, but if you blitz him..oh my & The offensive line acted like they'd never seen a blitz. * Control the clock. * focus. it's all in your head. no need for false starts/off. P.I /holding penalties on 3rd down. * Hit brady, even if it costs you an early flag once, continue hitting him. if he dies, he dies.
The Oline has to come to play. Don't know who the big interior defensive lineman is on their team they have but he was blowing up run play after run play on us last game. All about execution. Gotta be flawless.
A major key to the game is Special Teams. They're gonna have to give us a score or some good yardage. Marciano needs to earn his check this week. We need a spark.
Prevent Arron Hernandez from making it rain, and no Gronk Spikes!!!! AFC Championship game here we come!
