This would be great if minny wants to salvage this year but 1) I still really doubt they do it until they have too. Love could turn it around and make a great run next year and convince love to resign. 2) if they want to trade now I just don't think we have enough considering what other teams would/could give.

I mean, I hate to sound all Sun Tzu Art of War predatory douchebag here, but you've got to take advantage of these guys while they're weak and despondent:

I want to see one of the savviest GMs in the league in Daryl Morey take complete advantage of one of the dullest in David Khan--I want to see that team get goaded into making a short-term panic move they later regret.

The only downside is that the Rockets would literally be helping a team immediately compete for a low playoff seed against themselves. But I would gladly forgo another season without the Rockets in the playoffs if it meant landing Kevin Love. These are the types of opportunities that make or break a franchise. Daryl Morey lives for these chances, these windows of opportunity. I get the vibe that he just saw the news about Kevin Love on his Blackberry, and phone calls will me made come Monday. You just know he's that kind of guy.

DMo/Jones/Parsons/Smith/Lin for Love/JJ might get them thinking. It upsets me that we could have someone like Sullinger or PJ3 to throw in but we ended up with White instead.

Would you sacrifice your chance for a low playoff seed to consolidate your contender core at <25 years of age.

    A. Yes
    B. I like drinking paint

If i was going to pick a team most likely to hoodwink Minnesota, i'd pick Cleveland, they have some pretty good assets (not to mention how good their draft pick would become this year from sucking with an injured Love) and a couple years of Kyrie and Love might be enough to convince him to re-sign.

We don't really have anything comparable to offer, this isn't like OKC, that valued a high efficiency shooting guard for a team looking to contend.

Our best hope would be if it took another year or two, with Love wanting to play with Harden and putting us on a list of maybe 2 teams.

I feel bad for Adelman, not so much for Love.

Actually we do. We don't need shot blocking big guy who can finish alley oops, unless he happens to be a complete player that guy will just clog up the paint and lessen chances for Harden and Lin to drive inside. This is the reason why MM and PPat are getting major minutes at C and PF, they can stretch the opponent D and allow perimeter players to drive inside.

If we can manage to get Love on the team without giving up Asik, I think we can already be considered to be a team on par with OKC and Miami once Love fully recovers, because with Lin, Asik and Love all on the same team we'd win the rebounding battle every single game. That's a huge advantage esp. for a team like us, because more rebounds = more possessions= more chances to score.

What good assets are you talking about? I count only two: Varejao and Irving.

TT is looking like a bust with every passing game, and Dion Waiters hasn't proved to be anything special, I doubt Minny is chomping at the bit to get any of those guys. More importantly I think the Cavs FO are looking to keep their jobs and trying to get into the playoffs as quickly as possible, they've now basically wasted two top 4 picks in a row.

Waiters and Thompson (whose been showing improvement, no idea where you get the idea he's looking like a bust, that kid that played us the other day was a massive improvement over the same kid last year) are both decent assets, young players, very raw though but they have shown promise (better than any asset we have except Harden), their draft pick if they took an injured Love would also be extremely high, all 3 would be significantly better than anything we could offer, or most teams really.

As for making the playoffs, Irving and Love next season would be a shoe-in for an EC playoff spot.

Yessssss trade for an injured Kevin Love while the Wolves struggle to try to save their season. You know you can do this Morey.

Season's over for the Timberwolves. I feel a bit bad for their fans. But will they really try to trade Love when his value is at an all time low?

Well, KAAAAHHHN so maybe. If it were any other GM there would be no chance.
