If they play like they have been playing since they got whooped last time, they will get whooped again, maybe worse. The defense showed some life today which is encouraging. The offense still looks impotent except the offensive line and Foster played well. The play calling was questionable as usual, too many field goals, too few risks. Am I confident, not at all? Could they win, its the NFL, any thing can happen. Not likely but possible. They will be favored by no one but fans.

    My heart says Texans.

    My wallet says Patriots.

    Care to place a bet?

QB played it way too conservatively; left yards all over the field. Don't confuse execution with play calling. Schaub is going to have to make big-boy throws next week for them to win.

Do you think he think he can make big-boy throws? I haven't seen big-boy throws since the Denver game. I guess we'll see.

Thats because you don't watch games - he made plenty of big-boy throws against Baltimore, Jacksonville, Detroit, Tennessee, Indianapolis...

I do think the score of the last game was a little misleading. The early lead was had because of dumb mistakes by the Texans and a bad call or two. If Kareem grabs that fumble near the goal line, and a borderline flag or two had not been thrown, the whole complexion of that game changes. The Texans have the talent to compete with any team in the league. Of that, I am sure. I think as a fan base, we're jaded by the last few weeks coupled with years of Oilers fandom.

That said, I think the Patriots still frighten me more than the Broncos.

Without haven't read anybody else's comments I think the Texans have a shot. I feel they gave away too many opportunities to stop NE by giving away yards and first downs on penalties.

Super Bowls have to be earned. We lose for sure if we somehow managed to get home-field throughout.

We needed a wake-up call. Let's see if we can stun the world.

The best chance we have I think is if a key Patriots player gets hurt. Gronkowski, Hernandez, Welker, or Brady.

I just can't envision the Texans holding the Patriots under 20 pts, which means the offense will have to score. Right now I'm not sure how confident I am in the offense even with the Patriots defense being average.

My confidence has improved. I still think the Patriots will win. I pray to God I'm wrong, and that Kubiak/Wade have a hidden playbook which they've been keeping secret for the 'Big One.'

Our OL and secondary defense played like different men today. They were nothing like the last time NE stomped on us. The Bengals pass rush and DBs were one of the best in the league. They had 'momentum' coming into this game. So this was a good, but ugly W.

However, our flaccid redzone offense/reliance on FGs is very worrying. Our defense is great, but they cannot wall off Brady. Offense has to play longer with TDs so Brady is at the sidelines. The last 4 minutes of the game had the Texans praying that Dalton wouldn't see open men down the field. Lots of close calls. Brady wouldn't have missed those. It doesn't help that Gronkowski is coming back either.

    36-28 Patriots
