How about we discuss possible ways of defeating the Patriots. What do the Texans have to do to be successful?

IMO they need to be quicker on snapping the ball on offense and not get caught off guard on the quick snaps on defense. Protect Schaub, cover the middle of the field, and do a better job of getting pressure on Brady.Texans cannot give him time to sit in the pocket and pick them apart.

I know Andy Dalton is no Brady but I was watching how we were defending Cincy's TE's and think we looked pretty good. All around our defense played great and with that same type of performance I think we have a good shot

I thought we had the Ravens at home next week?... Ohh that is right, we **** the bed back to back weeks.

It is hard to beat a team twice.... but the Pats are a terrible match up because we will be playing a team that can score on every possession, and our constant string of field goals is not enough.

To win we need smart good defense, win the turnover battle and have more TD's than FG's.

I would say we have about a 20% chance of winning.

The good news is if we beat the Pats we will throttle the Broncos the week after.

The "it's hard to beat a team twice" thing works both ways. If it hold true and we beat the Pats, we'll have to beat Denver for a 2nd time to go to the Super Bowl.

No where near as confident as I would've been if the game was in Reliant, like it should have been.

weve actually never played against gronk, think about the way jimmy graham usually handles us. well gronk is basically jimmy graham but a little bit better... graham was a tough match up for cushing, quin, & manning, he basically did what he wanted.. were going to have to keep guys in coverage and pray we can get pressure rushing 4..

i was listening to the radio today, they were talking about the texans mentioning having brooks spend some time at ilb, i forgot to check to see if he did play any there but he might be strong enough to tackle gronk and keep him from just running into the endzone with our dbs on his back..

agreed. Thought that before last game, and we inexplicably were blitzing brady more than necessary. Hopefully lesson learned..

I remember people talking about a win is a win
    whether by 2 or 20
IMO that is not true. . . which is why I wish the Texans stomped people more
You get in their head. .. you get in their fans heads

Which is why so many people negative
If we lose to NE 24-14 . . . we would feel better

So . . . I think they can and will win
    but
    I understand the pessimism.

I put our odds of beating the Pats at 20%... So I don't put too much stock in the "twice effect"... I believe more in match ups.. I like our match up against Denver but not New England.

we actually had the lead with 3 minutes to go in that game we were manhandled by jimmy graham .
DEFENSE! I think you people only focus on the bad that one player on the team than the good, when the offense is clicking, there is no stopping them. but yeah right now, fgs are not going to get it done. 2 possible tds were negated by offensive penalties.

Actually, much more confident. They slaughtered us, but that will not make us scared: they will only overlook us. Also, Glover Quin, Kareem Jackson, and Jjoe are playing some of their best ball at the right time of the season. We are the underdogs, but I bet you we come out firing. The Jets have done it in the past; we can do it too.

If it was in Reliant the Texans would crumble under the pressure of being the top seed. They just barely beat the Bengals in Reliant. They should do better in the heavy underdog/no expectations role.

Which has no bearing on the outcome of any game.

The Bengals are better than people here are giving them credit - 7-1 down the stretch while allowing just 12 points/game. Other than Washington/Seattle, it's probably the closest match-up among the first round games. The Bengals would have given Baltimore or Indianapolis all they could handle, too. Fortunately, their QB is not very good.

Guys - Mark Sanchez and Joe Flacco have both won playoff games in Foxboro within the last three years; Sanchez after losing 5 weeks prior by 42 points. And Flacco was a Lee Evans drop from doing it again last year.

The team is healthy; they looked much improved today and the first game was one of those that just got out of hand quickly and became a blow-out. But the defense had its moments and plays were there for the offense. I don't think a win would be that shocking.
