Too bad 99% of you only care about your Schaub pissing match. The real keys to take from this game was that

    1) Our O-Line did an outstanding job - letting the ground game dominate the clock and keeping Schaub clean against the #3 team in the league at sacking the QB.

    2) Our secondary largely sorted out their issues and didn't allow Green or anyone else to have a 100 yd game. They should have had 3 picks.

But do go back to arguing about Schaub and giving up on next week instead of toasting the second playoff win in franchise history.

Eh... AJ dropped the pass, sure, I guess... but that was a 'fraidy cat rushed throw if I ever saw one. Pacman disrupted the timing, too. But still, Schaub needed only to move slightly to his left, buy himself a second and float that one in - instead he threw too quickly, off-balance and was wide.

He's not playing with any confidence and/or thinking waaaaaay too much. There were far too many Carr-esque check downs when he had open guys running deeper seams. I guarantee you Kubiak will see yards left on the field. Schaub looks all the world like a guy trying not to make mistakes (which echoes statements Kubiak made this week about not worrying about making mistakes; he obviously sees it, too). I was hoping an early TD would settle him down. Fortunately, he was the second-worst QB on the field today; that will not be the case next week.

New England's secondary, I think, is vulnerable. They had guys open in the Monday debacle. But Schaub is going to have to make big-boy throws if they're going to win. Had they played NE today, they lose 42-19.

Great win for the Texans, but the it's not over yet. I don't know who will next week, but I don't think for a second that the Patriots will blow out the Texans this time. It will be an extremely close game, and I can finally say that this is a different Texans team than we saw on MNF against the Patriots. Should be a good one.

Defense and Arian Foster won the game but a win is still a win and even Schaub had good contributions to it.

Only part of team that was a real weakness was special teams outside of the kicking.

How can you say that? Because we beat a team that struggles to score points two weeks after we lost to a team that struggles to score points? The offense was still flat today, and couldn't get in the end zone.

I'm not trying to be negative here, but in my opinion, there are only two ways the Texans best the Patriots: Score early and often. Make Brady have to beat you through the air with longer passes (thus giving the d-line a chance to tee off on him...something they've struggled a bit with lately), Or you force multiple turnovers and capitalize on them. Whether they be through fumbles or interceptions, teams that have beaten New England this year have been effective at getting to Brady early and often, and they've forced turnovers. Our defense has struggled to do those things lately.

The Patriots killed us with short passes last game. Wade loves to play man, and when you're caught up in man coverage, and the opponent is throwing short passes, many of our defenders don't even see the ball until the ball carrier is ten yards down field. This also prevents JJ Watt, Antonio Smith and company from even getting a chance to hit Brady. Then, after they've nickel and dimed you to death, they'll hit you over the top with a deep ball.

It'as vaguely similar to how our offense operates when running smoothly (although instead of short passes, we use stretches and whatnot), or any good offense runs, but they execute excellently, and it's superb at killing overaggressive defenses.

I'm curious as to Wade's game plan more than Kubiak's because I think the way our defense plays holds more of a bearing on the final results of the game than the way our offense plays. The offense will eventually fix itself, in my opinion, as hard as that is to believe. What better game to right the ship than against the Patriots.

Also, all of the proceeding assumes we don't have breakdowns in special teams, but we all know that can easily happen.

Also curious to how wade is going to play it. But the Jax front seven made brady look like tammi brady, to pull a honey boo bear card. The previous game pressure on schaub was coming from the edges and through the middle via mayo and willfork, I think we will slide protection 100% than that game. Our line won the point of attack against the bengals front seven, so that's encouraging.

It feels nice to eek out a win, because so many Dallas fans were talking trash. Someone even dissed Schaub for smiling after that last pass to Graham. Ppl thought it was too early and that he would throw another pick six. Dallas fans are a bunch of haters, and it's cool that the Mavs lost again! It's a good weekend!

    GO BULLS ON PARADE!

Connor Barwin and Johnathan Joseph stepped up today. That is a major factor in the Texans winning this game. A.J. Green was going to get his eventually, but J-Jo kept him on check the whole first half. Also, the running game came alive today which helps Schaub in the passing game. If Arian Foster and the O-Line can continue the way they played today and the defense we saw today continues, I have no doubt in my mind the Texans can defeat the Patriots.

Good win for the Texans. It was more difficult than I anticipated, but a win nonetheless.

offense was not great today but give credit to the bengals D, they have been playing lights out the last few weeks.

the pats D is no where near the bengals and that gives me hope that the offense can keep and gain momentum.

did anyone see the end of the postgame interview on the texans website.

arian foster acknowledges how great of a coach kubiak is, and even though some of us disagree with his errant play calling...foster says that his players want to play for him

they have more respect for him, because he tells it like it is..

that was cool to watch; check it out if you can

The other part I should have posted about was how, if our offense chooses to come back to live against New England, it would be excellent defensively in keeping Brady off the field. So, keep him off the field, and when he's on it, hit him hard and often, and force a turnover or two.

I'm cautiously optimistic, although in no way do I expect a win. I would be ecstatic beyond belief with one, as more afraid of the Patriots than any other team in the playoffs (or at least the AFC).
