as Bull put it, the great thing about TD is he is fearless and comes in the game anytime. Even if he is playing ****ty he gices the team confidence, something Lin needs to work on.
Because he is utilized properly. He is not a PG. He is a shooter with some PG skills. Use him with Harden and Lin, he will score. Use him with Melo, Amare and Chandler will not work.
He's really starting to remind me of Tony Allen with better perimeter shooting. That's a huge compliment, I'd say.
I liked how TD stepped up when Jeremy went out bleeding like a stuck pig. The guy is, like Delfino, an excellent rotation player. How many layups did he make last night off of Bucks turnovers? I lost count. It was rediculous. A great energy guy that plays defense, can take it to the basket, and hit the 3 ball. What's not to like? He's found his role and we're lucky to have him.
When the Rockets got Douglas, my question was whether last season was an aberration due to not fully recovered from his injury? Or was the injury preventing him from playing well anymore? It turns out to be the former, and now he's playing like he did in his first two years. Basically the PG version of Courtney Lee. Very limited player who's unlikely to develop further. But good enough to play in most rotations. I still think he's trade bait with Morey hoping Beverly can replace him. Perhaps a low 1st rounder from a contending team that need a backup PG.
Possibly, but I'm not crazy about busting up the team, unless we're getting another star player to put with Harden. We're winning games. Guys like TD and Delfino are a big part of that.
yeah. that was rediculous and beautiful to watch. There were at least 4-5 steals/fast breaks with a wide open Tony Douglas put up a layup and no other player in sight. I think Harden had one of those too. Great to see the transition buckets from this team. But every time I saw Tony by himself getting a pass on the other side of the court I was like "Deja Vu" tony every time. It was sick
The bench has been much better than anticipated so far this season. Don't look now, but TD is playing like a sixth man should.
The man is fitting in perfectly right now. Credit also goes out to Morey and the coaching staff for playing him to his strength.
Douglas has been doing a great job.. Since the first game in December his scoring off the bench has been consistent. He's the only player that is shooting over 40 percent behind the arch on a team that takes 27 three's a game (the 2nd most in the league)...
The Rockets are still at least one star away from contending. And it's easier to trade for one with draft picks instead of backups. True, our season record and playoff hopes may suffer, similar to when Battier and Brooks were traded a couple of years ago. But those trades eventually set us up for drafting DMo and Parsons.
I agree, and I'd be willing to trade a lot to get one, but moving valuable rotation players for a pick, unlikely to be a high one, when we're playing so well? I'll pass on that.
i wouldnt say he's better than Lin. People dont give Lin enough credit, hes may not be scoring allot in the past few games but he's doing all the other things extremely well, aside from the TO.
I won't lie, I used to cringe every time TD came in the game too, but sometimes I think he makes us better than Lin. Other than his terrible jumpshot atm, I wish Lin would push the ball faster like TD.
