Playing extremely good since he stunk it up early in the season, becoming uber consistent, really enjoyed watching him play over the last few weeks. Boy, how someone can turn it around like that!!!
Early in the season, I thought he was as bad as Flynn but he has proved otherwise. Hope this continues.
Was TD a starter in New York? He's really been doing great and provides bench support in a way that I didn't foresee at the beginning of the season. Super fun to watch him play, go Toney!
i have to eat my words about douglas -- early on he was beyond horrible -- missing easy layups and wide open looks -- but he has gotten back into his groove or became comfortable again -- he is back to being the nice surprise he was for new york his rookie year except this time he isnt shooting too much (like in NY) -- i think he accepted his role more here this is good because he brings a better change of pace compared to lin and is a feisty defender at times
I was seriously wanting to get rid of this dude in November. Times have changed. Sorry Toney. You're the best
The guy plays with great energy and confidence. If he has a bad game it's not from lack of effort or desire.
I gotta give TD props. I thought he was dead weight 5 games into the season but now I'm confident with him out there. He's a team-first guy and creates some chaos on D. Not bad for a bench PG.
"DWTDD" Yeeha Thanks for making this thread. Wish I had thought of it. Toney took a lot of crap last year and this season. But he never gives up and always gives 150% of himself when he is on the court. People don't realize how difficult it is for players to find their niche in the world of NBA. He is still young and can learn and improve. So glad he has got a new life now with the Rockets.
I'm glad TD is doing well. He's a really nice guy and had a terrible season in NY. He seems to enjoy playing in Houston right now. Morey please don't trade him.
Much maligned in the Big Apple - Toney has been (for me) the biggest surprise (pleasant). If he continues to work on consistency from "3" - he is your perfect back-up PG, Combo Guard to finish games aka Sam Cassell. This is because he plays stellar "D" with great lateral quickness and has shown the propensity for hitting the clutch shot. I hope he continues to improve - cuz if he does this fills a HUGE need for a bonafide contender.
