Schaub and the Texans just got obliterated on NFL countdown, Schaub being called out specifically. If our boys can't get up for this game theyll never be able to. I want to see hell on wheels today. Absolute domination.

After 3+ years of b**** moaning, time to see what Schaub's playoff resume will start to look like. I'm not going to wildly change my opinion of him after one game (like so many here do), but after 3 or so playoff games (the same leash given to guys like Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco, etc), the verdict will start to take shape. I'm excited. Go Texans.

    1. My opinion never changed.

    2. He's much older than Flacco and Ryan.

On the surface most people will see it that way, but Yates didn't have to do anything to win that game last year. If Schaub went 11/20 for 159 yards and 1 TD he would get crucified.

I've never been a schaub fan and have always viewed him as a net liability for a team w true superbowl aspirations. What I find amazing is that 5 years into his career here you still feel you would need up to an additional 3 seasons before you could make your assertion on him. Thats absolutely insane. Imagine running a business that way! In that time you may very well squander this franchises best opportunity to win it all while you reconscede the division back to the colts and for what? I just don't understand how schaubs garnered such a long leash.

He's getting paid bookoos of bucks to lead this team... Isn't it time you actually expect more from him? He's not a young quarterback anymore, it's time to put up or shut up.

If Schaub cant step up today and lead this team to a win over the Bengals, then he never will...you've got a home game against a squad that is a marginal playoff team.

Absolutely no excuses. Its time to take the reigns and win a playoff game.

If he fails, then I dont see how an extra year will show us anything...this is as easy as it gets in the playoffs.

Why don't you trolls go back into your cave until after the game. If he blows the game, gloat. But why don't you wait.

    GO TEXANS!

    1. You come around beating your chest every single time Matt has an off-game. One game and you act as suddenly your opinions are validated.

    2. Flacco and Ryan have had FAR more post season opportunities than Schaub, and failboated more than winboated.

I'm sure it will. I'm not one of them. He's our QB for another few years, and I'm not going to base my opinion on what he is capable of for the next 2-3 years on this one game. TJ was probably the least responsible party for the Texans beating the Bengals last year. If Matt is the reason we lose today, then yeah, that's a strike against him. But I'm not about to plug TJ Yates in and expect better things.

So by the time Schaub is 33 or 34 years old and he's played in a few playoff games then we'll know what kind of QB we have?

Matt Schaub is the LAST reason we failed to make the playoffs in 08, 09, and 10. Other than freak injuries, we'd have a better idea of how he is in the playoffs by now. But unfortunately, we don't. What more can I expect from him? To go back in time and unbreak his foot or untear his MCL and make a few starts in the playoffs so I have something more to judge him on than just today's game? This is the same treatment virtually every QB in the league is given. Nobody is judged as a winner-loser based on one playoff game. That's asinine.

I expect he'll have multiple playoff games under his belt by the time this year is over. Wish we could've had some playoff appearances for him before this one, but that's the way it turned out. The fact that you believe it's fair to judge Schaub entirely on one game says a lot about you and your vendetta against him, along with many other posters.

Excuses excuses excuses... I guess you and I just have different expectations of what a starting qb should bring to the table. You're clearly resigned to the fact that if the rest of the team is struggling than the qb gets a pass. I fully expect the opposite. IMO, w a better qb the texans easily make the playoffs in 2009. IMO, w a better qb the Texans are sitting w home field advantage today, running game, oline and secondary struggles be damned.

Whats unfortunate is that it's pretty obvious you and kubiak share the same sentiment. But then again I'm also of the opinion that kubiak leaves a helluva lot to be desired as well.

An excuse is "Matt's dog died so he played poorly".

Breaking your foot or tearing your MCL is not an "excuse".

I repeat, Matt Schaub is the last reason we have not made the playoffs in the past.

To act as if he is qualifies as blind stupidity or raging bias (notice how the loudest critics are VY homers? hmm).
