Everybody were saying Lin is inconsistent. But let's take a look at Brandon Jennings and Monta Ellis. When either of 'em was having a bad night, they got the green lights to be a chucker so their stats on the final box-score would look good. There is no CHUCK-MODE in Lin's dictionary. That's what Morey said: Winning play. So the KEY component to the Team's success is...no chuck-mode in our starting PG's mind.
If we are talking about in general, then it would be these things: -Having James Harden consistently scoring. -Having Jeremy Lin play aggressively and confidently. -Having Omer Asik do the dirty work. -Making points from downtown. -Having a good bench. -Fast Breaks -Rebounds -Free Throws -Etc. But seriously speaking, Delfino was the man for yesterday's game. The guy was hot and he almost single handedly helped us from getting blow out. Thank to Douglas and Patterson from making some from downtown. If not for them, we would be toast. Of course, Harden was the man. Lin came back in the fourth. Omer did some work.
It all comes down to shot making. When we push the ball we get open shots, mainly 3's and when they are going in we are very hard to beat. Teams like MIA and OKC are good at getting back on D and don't let us get into the type of rhythm we need to get into.
Del3no is the perfect bench player, reasonable defender, and a streaky shooter (he had 22 points at a TS of 100% last night) who isn't integral to the minutes, so you can cope with him on an off night, where he'll only play 10 mins or so, but when he gets hot, you can ride him for 25.
Delfino is the most experienced player on this team, lol. Anyway, he can't be that angry that the Bucks didn't re-sign him. Between Jennings and Ellis, would he get any shots? Houston has nicer weather than Wisconsin too.
If it's not for a player that is substantially better, why even bother. Don't mess with the chemistry of this team. Not sure if my sarcasm meter is broken.
The Rockets have bought in to what McHale is trying to do. McHale has the Rockets playing great team ball. If Lin ever learns to shoot then look out.
That's what I'm thinking as well. Lin just needs to make a damn jumper and it'll open up his whole game. Less turnovers from forced drives, easier drives, you name it.

If he takes fewer, better shots we win.
He looks happier to be in Houston and I believe Omer is Happier here too, but when a team has a chance to sign you and they pass that's like a slap in the face. That's why Chandler is so good. Chandler knows he should have been a top 10 pick and now he is probably the second best player from his draft year because being picked so low motivated the hell out of him.
I think the guys genuinely like each other...and I think that is key. Apparently, a bunch of them spent New Year's Eve together...Chandler and Jeremy and Patrick and Cole, at least. There's no question that there is a lot of chemistry and comradery between Lin and Parsons at the least. And, when I saw them play at the Garden, it was obvious that the rest of the guys were happy to beat a Knicks team that was playing well but also really wanted to win that one for Jeremy. I think they are a tight knit bunch, a lot of them with something to prove, and they all want to help each other prove it. The whole Kevin McHale situation, so sad in every way, had to bring them all closer together too, I would think. All in all, I do love this bunch of guys and, like Dwight said, if they love each other, that goes a long way toward helping them to play like a real team, the whole ending up much greater than just a sum of the parts.
I think what is key is a way to win that doesnt depend on running and 3's. While we will win many this way, we need a good half court game if we are to succeed consistently in the regular season and hope to progress in the playoffs.
