Goodbye Scott Machado and Daequan Cook. Patrick Beverley is an upgrade over Machado. James Anderson is a defensive upgrade over Cook. Why Beverely over Machado? Beverley provides better shooting and defensive skills. Why Anderson over Cook? Anderson provides better defense and more height on the wing. Although both players are natural SGs, Cook did not have the desired height to backup the SF position. The slightly taller Anderson does.
I am wondering about this myself. Could it be linked with some action the Rockets intend with Royce White?
FIBA's offices are closed until January 3rd. So the FIBA letter of clearance probably can't be passed until then.

haven't watched but one video of this guy... I think he's a downgrade to any guard currently in the nba. lol that's just me though.
Someone mentioned he was not on the bench yesterday, but the game log said he had the flu. I don't think he got released.
Cole Aldrich wasn't on the bench last night...and I did not see Cook on monday so put 2 and 2 together...I guess
Tired of waiting!! We need a back-up PG badly. Lin can't keep playing 40+ minutes per game and we have a busy schedule coming up! Beverley should just deflect, or we should plan an "Operation PB" to bust him out of the Russian Embassy  In other news:

Jeremy Lin, by the way, was given a rest day today. He's fine and will be good to go tomorrow vs. the Bucks.
— Jason Friedman (@JasonCFriedman) January 3, 2013

To be fair, in the limited minutes that Cook saw the court he didn't look like he had a role. All he should be asked to do is sit in the corner and take the open three and he'd be good for that, the guy can shoot. Instead it looked like he was out there to prove himself and he tried to do way, way too much.
