That dude must be smoking crack. Didn't Vasquez get 11 of his points with TD guarding him? I don't get the overemphasis on individual match ups. It's not like it was Vasquez vs Lin straight up.

If we had CP3, James Harden wouldn't have the ball as much, he'd have less assists and wouldn't be considered the superstar playmaker/ball handler/defacto PG like he is now. CP3 is CP3 bc he handles the ball 95% of the time.

    LOL 20-10

do you know how "elite" that is? How many point guards that are considered some of the best in the league average that now? Nov 2012.

    Idiots. It was about matchups.

Vasquez is a tall PG standing 6'6". Lin is taller than TD. That's why Lin played 41 minutes even though Vasquez shut him down and forced Jeremy into 3-10 shooting from the field and 9 points.

I don't think Vasquez had quite the defensive impact Lin had on him. Lin's shooting woes were in a big part due to NOH bigs packing the paint. On several occasions Lin overcompensated for Davis and missed layups he would've normally made. And of course, Lin himself is a poor outside shooter so if anyone "shut him down", it was Lin himself.

Additionally, Vasquez is actually quite a poor defender. I don't think he could've forced any PG into doing much, really.

LMAO you call people an idiot & then you proceed to say something idiotic. If you watched the game you would know what went wrong exactly. In fact if you knew anything about GV you would know that he isn't a particularly good defender & isn't capable of shutting anyone down.

we'll see wont we? Over the last 8 or what 10 games hes averaging 16 and 8 and not hitting the 3.....abd if they had a quality big he would be at 10 a game NOW.....dish after dish to Osik and he cant catch the ball or he cant finish...give Lin tyson chandler and hes got 10 a night easy....the 3 will come. hes playing really well....and will play better.... will he have 20 and 10 this year...no but i bet he gets close to that the last 20 or so games....time will tell

I would hope that that mind set is not prevelant. Besides the fact he is no rookie, even though it's still short of his first full year or close to it. he is making some mind bending no looks and assits no doubt, and hope the range shot returns soon.

Lin makes many a goofy drive, i.e., what the heck are you doing in there with 2 to 3 bigs standing over you? lol. But I luv his hutspah. (very poor yiddish..eh?)
Sometimes it's Harden the same way, and on occasion...Chandler...where are you going?

    But that's real time basketball.

Still, I am so loving the team right now, and just win baby! is my mantra.

About harden, my wife and I were just watching the game upstairs last night and the big board just sucks you in no doubt. When you see how he literally rises up and lays the ball in with his hand turned over...that my friend is very impressive. Especially when it's 20 feet tall.

Are there tinny tiny rockets in his shoes? : )

    1. Lin has never been a great 3pt shooter his entire career. It's highly unlikely he'll develop a respectable 3pt shot by the end of the season.

    2. No one cares about "what if..." scenarios. You're trying to prop up Lin but
you're grasping at straws instead. Give Lin Dwight Howard and he'll average 10 assists too. Who cares? Tyson is never going to be in Houston.

    3. I can see him averaging 18/8 in his last 20 games - tops. He's never going to reach 9 or 10 assist a game barring a change in coaching because Harden shares ballhandling duties.

Eh? He abused him all night, he went off mainly on Douglas when Lin sat.

His assist totals are completely misleading by the way, someone who pounds the ball 95% of the time and is usually the last person to pass to the shooter will always rack up assists. See Calderon & Rondo.

As for the Chris Paul part, one of New Orleans 7 wins this season actually came against the Clippers.

First of all, Lin's 41 minutes were all about the matchup with the taller 6'6" Vasquez. That's a fact.

Second, while it's true that Vasquez isn't a particularly good one-on-one defender, he is a savvy enough defender to steer quicker opposing point guards into his team's big men (Anthony Davis, Robin Lopez) and watch the opposing point guard miss out of fear of having his shot blocked. That was mostly the case last night with Lin's 3-10 shooting and 9 points in 41 minutes, although he did convert 1-4 from three, so at least he made one jumper.

Thankfully, James Harden has no such fear of opposing big men and scored a fearless 31.

:) Indeed, what's not to love!! There are a number of special individual performances every game for this spirited team as they experience their growing pains. They're learning fast, and it's exciting to see something new at each outing. And I like that they seem like such a great group--no thugs or too hotheaded, it seems, and I'm trusting that the new signees are the same way!

It's really annoying when LOFs use this argument. I mean, come on, you could say that about anybody. Asik blows layups when Harden, Parsons, Delfino, hell even Douglas pass the ball to him too. With this argument, everyone would have higher assist numbers. Come on, man, quit trashing other Rockets and blaming them for Lin's average assist numbers.

Part of an assist is placing the ball in the right position for a player to score. Sometimes players miss shots due to a bad pass.

I want Lin to succeed as much as anyone here, and he has been playing better lately (thank God) but he still has a long ways to go. But most unbiased people would casually say that Vasquez played better tonight, he was more intrical to his team. And before someone says "you must have not watched the game, Lin shut down Vasquez.." no, I did watch the game, and Lin played alright, but.. Vasquez did play a bit better.

I don't understand your logic behind this, so a member defends Lin with his reasoning will be considered a LOF?
