I want to see Royce succeed and I'm not even frustrated that he isn't with the team.

It's the fact that whenever he opens his mouth, he truly believes he is enlightening us - the ignorant masses. As if we are all the common folk, lucky to hear his sage wisdom. Like he is God's gift to American society. No regard to whether we give heed to those mental illness or not. He stopped picking his battles and has just made a war out of it.

Xanax is a short-term solution to anxiety. Its not something you can take everyday because tolerance develops and it can begin to increase anxiety rather than decrease it. There are other meds he can take like Buspirone, which I think he is taking right now. These meds take weeks to kick in and have an effect, but they don't provide instant relief.

Royce would pack his bags and be on the first bus to RGV in less than half an hour if that was to happen...

I just block this all out of my mind and carry a "Royce who?" approach to the matter.

I'm surprised the Rockets have put up with this for as long as they have.

I think success for him is different.... Treated as a human being and getting 100 percent healthy mentally should be success enough.... Screw the NBA! ;)

i don't think he has to discuss his medical issues on twitter if he doesn't want to.

I do think he is looking to be babied, and he needs to grow up and realize that the world won't ever work around him and the way he wants, and he is using his medical condition as a bargaining chip.

He wants to skip practice. No kidding, I am sure half the league does.

The positive scenarios seem really unlikely at this point:

    1. RW figures out how to manage his disability and becomes a long term asset.
    2. RW learns how to manage his disability in general, is an asset, plays in games within ground distance and some games by air.
    3. RW becomes an asset but controls issues by never playing in games that are long distance and occasionally doesn't play in games when attacks occur. Blames team / teammates for attacks but doesn't push the blame to the breaking point.
    4. RW learns to control issues but is not NBA talent or cannot practice or play a sufficient amount of time to develop his talents. Blames team / teammates for issues.
    5. RW simply cannot deal with the NBA spotlight and fails to leverage his talents at all. Blames team / teammates / society.
    6. RW can't deal with spotlight, fails, blames everyone.
    7. RW fails utterly, never plays, blames everyone, sues everyone.
    8. RW melts down entirely with unknown unfortunate consequences.
    9. ....

Given the facts item #1 seems the least likely at this point.

Munchausen syndrome is a type of factitious disorder, or mental illness, in which a person repeatedly acts as if he or she has a physical or mental disorder when, in truth, he or she has caused the symptoms. People with factitious disorders act this way because of an inner need to be seen as ill or injured, not to achieve a concrete benefit, such as financial gain. They are even willing to undergo painful or risky tests and operations in order to get the sympathy and special attention given to people who are truly ill. Some will secretively injure themselves to cause signs like blood in the urine or cyanosis of a limb. Munchausen syndrome is a mental illness associated with severe emotional difficulties.

Munchausen syndrome—named for Baron von Munchausen, an 18th century German officer who was known for embellishing the stories of his life and experiences—is the most severe type of factitious disorder. Most symptoms in people with Munchausen syndrome are related to physical illness—symptoms such as chest pain, stomach problems, or fever—rather than those of a mental disorder.

If he did ever return.. (I know it won't happen...) I wonder what the reaction would be from the crowd.? It's rare to see a home player booed for any reason, but I think he'd get booed...

With that said. Cut him. Even if he does return seems like he'll be a big locker room cancer. Coach can't even take him out of the game without it being an issue I bet.

Imagine if Coach is about to take him out of the game, but instead of leaving when the sub come on he freezes...stares into the crowd...his heart starts beating, he can't breath...sweat trickles down his forehead, & then it happens.

Royce White collapses into the foetal position, full blown anxiety attack...he can't sit on the bench, doesn't want to go to the locker room, can't look at the crowd, can't look at his teammates, won't listen to the coach...

    What then?

The guy obviously has no desire to even try. It looks like he is blaming everyone else for his problems. I am not sure if the Rockets are paying him right now (I certainly hope not) but if they are they should suspend or fine him to the point that he is making no money and just hold on to his rights so he never makes a penny on basketball until he decides he actually wants to give an effort to come to work for the team that gave him a chance by drafting him. Since he is under contract, they should be able to block him from playing in Europe. Let him wine like a little baby on Twitter all he wants and don't let him make a penny off of basketball until he realizes he has to actually give an effort to make money. This guy is making people with mental illnesses look really bad.
