You kept calling me an *******, I thought I'd do something to actually deserve it. And I did deserve my wife leaving me...I deserved a better wife (which I got!). BTW, I was without power during Ike while awake for 2 hours. We'll go to hell, but at least we have CSH!!
I wouldn't say nobody has heard of them. I'm pretty sure that between all of them they have tens of customers in the Houston area.
Are you folks with Dish (outside the Houston area) that have League Pass able to see the Houston feed via the Dish channels?
I'm 70 miles north and am blacked out. Have a friend in Midland/Odessa and the same is true that far out. It all seems fairly random.
I ask, because during their free preview at the beginning of the season, I believe two of their games were on. On one, I was able to see the Houston feed, but the other appeared to have the Houston feed blacked out. I was curious if that was an anomaly or if it were somehow related to the CSH mess.
I went to the New Years Eve game against the Hawks. FUN. I really wish I could get the games, this team is exciting to watch. I'm working on tickets to the Lakers game now. Oh, and shout out to all the cool kids with the new Jordans on making fun of the loners wearing socks and velcro sandles.
I had no idea this thread was so entertaining. Btw, I'm in Austin, with league pass, and the games are not blacked out. I'm sure someone has covered that already somewhere in this thread, but there it is.
NEWS: Comcast SportsNet Houston will broadcast at least six Houston Aeros home games. All games, originating from Toyota Center, will air the day after each game is played. The first game features the Aeros taking on the Texas Stars and is set to air on Saturday, Jan.5, at noon. Aeros radio voice Joe O’Donnell will provide the play-by-play for each game. Aeros Hockey on Comcast SportsNet Houston Jan. 5 vs. Texas – noon Jan. 6 vs. San Antonio – noon Jan. 14 vs. Charlotte – 8 p.m. Feb. 2 vs. Texas – noon Feb. 5 vs. San Antonio – noon Feb. 24 vs. OKC - TBD
I rigged a desktop computer in my entertainment center. Now I can stream the game over the internet to my big screen. This is working pretty well right now. Much better than watching the games on my laptop. Screw CSN.
CSN itself may not need favorable public opinion, but the teams that comprise its ownership sure as hell do. When you are asking people to continually invest themselves emotionally in your team and spend big bucks in the process, it usually helps not to have the perception out there that you don't give a damn about the fans. This is especially true since it has been a while since either of these teams were particularly good.
Don't understand what the fuss about the providers. If you love your teams that much, get a provider that carries it. If you don't like that provider, just switch providers, like I did to U-verse, and stream the games from the computer. If you want your favorite provider to carry your favorite team, go onto the street to demonstrate and make it political, don't be a p***y. At the end of the day, why do some of you guys expect big corporations will put your needs before their bottom line? It's capitalism in work right? Put up or shut up.
1) Many people do not have access to Comcast. 2) Streaming it on your computer is a. Illegal b. Usually terrible quality and definitely not pristine HD
1)Request comcast access to your area or give up watching the games. 2) a. There is not such a thing that crystally black and white when this comes to play. Did you ever drive 70 mph on a 65 mph speed limit highway? That's absolutely illegal by the book. b. Don't watch the games then. Let the sucker comtrash give in or lose business. If the providers are not to back off, it means your patronization is not important enough to them. Never being dumped by your girlfriend? It hurts but you don't have to spend money on the ho. Find something alternative to do for fun.
I have dish and I am 104 miles east of the Toyota Center. I did not pay for League Pass, but when it was the free preview at the beginning of the year, all Rockets games were blacked out. Even now when there is a game on NBAtv, it is blacked out.
Dude, one hell of a lot of the folks here WANT TO SEE THE ROCKETS PLAY! They are fans. Your "advice," with all due respect, is just so much crap in the dumpster that is the current state of Rockets local broadcasting.
Normally I would agree with your sentiment, but wasn't the stadium that they play in paid for by our tax dollars? I think we deserve a fair shake at being able to watch the team play on TV.
