I think what he's trying to say is how is it that Lin can "shut down" Vasquez and not be "shut down" himself when neither play shot well but both players contributed in other ways?

So people are saying Lin had a great game despite his 3-10 shooting. He also had 6 boards and 7 assists.

Shouldn't Vasquez have a great game then despite his 6-15 shooting? He had 3 boards and 14 assists. And if he had a great game, then Lin didn't "shut him down", as some claim.

There has to be some consistency when judging players, that's all.

This x player shutting down Y player is sometimes a lot of nonsense. Basketball defense is team defense first...what's important is that the Rockets came out with a win and kept the other team in the low 90s. Everyone here just have to admit that Lin is a very good defensive player....and why go left when you you score going right!

You didn't watch the game or are blind if you don't think Lin shut down Vasquez tonight. Vasquez shot terribly and was ineffective when Lin guarded him tonight. TD got a bit lit up but Vasquez hit some tough shots too

Agreed on a lot of what you said. Also lets not forget all the times bigs clean up the glass when Lin misses shots.

In regards to him being aggressive the paint was really clogged tonight because we weren't shooting as well as we had in past so the driving lanes weren't there. But honestly there were a few no calls from some of his drives. He really isn't getting the same calls he was getting in NY. I was happy with his performance today. Played great D on Gervis Lin is so good at getting through screens. Only suggestion for improvement is that he needs to get more comfortable finishing at the rim against lengthy athletic shot blocking bigs. Serge Ibaka, Davis, Howard give him problems. Also his three point shooting is woeful but everybody knows that. His passing was on point tonight, he kept the ball moving really well & had a bunch of hockey assists. When he was out in the back & it was just Harden & Tony the O was just so bad, ball wasn't moving as well. And either his passes led to buckets/and 1 or they led to 2FT's. His rebounding was solid tonight as well.

McHale needs to stop using Tony as the PNR ball handler when Lin is out there it is ridiculous. Tony can't make the passes to Asik & Smith when they set picks for him, he doesn't know what to do. And Tony's D is so poor & his game in general is a hot mess. Either he fouls, travels, turns it over etc. His D was so so bad tonight.

You must think McHale sucked tonight for letting Lin get schooled for 42 minutes. McHale almost cost us the win!! Get rid of him!!!!

Lin played well, not fantastic. Maybe 6/10. He probably could have attacked the basket more. He does a lot of things that contribute to wins, however.

He is not a good outside shooter right now (understatement) but that is something that anecdotally at least seems to be improve-able/fixable over time. His passing/IQ/first step/rebounding/defense are keeping him on the court. These are more innate skills. I'd rather his weakness be the fixable one. Give it time.

Rockets just won a close game and everyone is complaining about/defending Lin and i see trolling everywhere.... *cough*King1*cough* Be happy we won we scored 104 points on a bad night. Not many teams get to 104 on a regular basis but nope everyone finds a reason to complain....

Steven Nash and Jason Kidd have each at one time led the NBA in turnovers.

If you don't know basketball, please don't watch it. And please please don't talk about it.

What's not delusional is that the Rockerts won by double digits...and Lin wasn't soaking on the bench. I'll take that anger with my mental meds all day long.

Steven Nash lead the league in non-turnovers.

Calderon and Lowry were 0-3 total with 0 points! And they had a blowout victory so I guess in your world the other players had to pick up their slack, right? Tard~
