Two different thing. When you played well, you deserve more than 20 mins and he wasn't getting that. That was the reason for most complaining. Doesn't mean you have to overuse him to compensate ;)

Coaching wasn't using him correctly and was still feeling things out. He actually is still being underutilized when he's in the game with Harden. Harden still demands the ball.

Vasquez is a point guard... And if you see ALLLL the assist he dished out (while Lin was guarding him) then you will see he didn't shut him down...

So I guess Lin was shut down as well by your estimation because he couldn't hit Jack..

So does the D League have anything to do with White's anxiety problems? How does he fit into the team as it is now? It just feels like White is more of a distraction now.

You have to take the responses in the context of the original comment where it was suggested that he had bad night because of 3-10 shooting. The responses are not saying it's okay to go 3-10, but instead saying don't use that as only basis to judge his performance tonight, as he had 7 assists, 6 rebounds, and played stellar defense on Greivis.

lin played 24mins in the thunder game.so don’t blame it on the coach.
The coach may need Lin's defense in this game.

Why do people say this all the time? "Oh, Jeremy Lin would've had 3 more assists if people actually made shots." Hell, you could say that for every single PG in the game. It doesn't support your argument any; in fact, it looks like you're nitpicking for positive things to say about the player.

He didn't have a great game, but he didn't have as poor a game as his box score shows either. He did a fantastic job of Vasquez until the fourth quarter (no idea who was guarding him, I think it was Lin). However, he remains a poor 3pt shooter (3/17 in last 5) and wasn't aggressive tonight going to the rim.

Lin remains inconsistent; in his last five games he's alternated single and double digit scoring and alternated <50% and >50% shooting. This shows he's aware when he's having a poor shooting night, but he can't let that take away from his playmaking.

Actually Lin did fine defending Vasquez straight up, problem is that as a team we are terrible defending off picks. It is the single biggest problem we have.

He's always been a good to great defender. In fact when he was warming the bench at Golden State defense was listed as one of his few strengths. He got that "bad defender" label last season due to getting caught on screens and Amare being a horrid PnR help defender. If you look at Linsanity it was predicated on elite defense.

His block on D-Rose while picking his pocket 2x last season, shutting down Jennings end of game, etc. and this season he's made some crazy defensive plays that you don't see PGs make. His D on Gallo in the Denver game, Blocking Josh Smith, his flying block on Tim Duncan, etc.

While true, he is hurting the team with his poor shooting. We need someone to lessen the load on Harden. Lin isn't the answer

2-11 isn't shutting down? You want 0-15? BTW, the 2 came after Douglas let him get hot.

Scoring isn't his only job, that's why he had 7 assists (easily 11 or 12 if some of the shots at rim or wide open 3s hit) and 6 rebounds. And the best +/- in the game, and higest minutes.

Yea but you can say the same about Vasquez because he had 14 assist and 15 points but yet they are saying he shut Vasquez down...lol..

Lin got schooled and out played tonight but at least we won..

If you actually watched the game, you would know Vasquez scored all but one of his baskets on TD (not really TD's fault - he's too short to guard Vasquez).

We may be using different definitions here, but points-wise, Lin shutdown Vasquez, as it was like night and day when Lin was and was not guarding him. And I'd rather Vasquez pass it than go crazy scoring. Lin had a bad shooting night, no question, and their interior D and his bad outside shooting form had alot to do with it.

I rather not have our point guard looking to score 20+ points a night. Is Parsons, Asik, Pattersons or any of the other Rockets the answer?
