Tony Parker type PG. Doubt he will ever reach his level though.

Tony Parker. Just needs to start finishing around the basket and step in a few feet from the (air ball) three point line.

Jeremy Lin's game like Parker because the Rockets is trying to learn the SPURS style.

If Lin has a good PNR partner, he can play like Stockton.

Amid the mania, Payton is measured in assessing Lin's long-term potential. "He can be a good point guard," he said. "He's not going to be a Chris Paul. He's not going to be a Deron Williams. I think he can be like a John Stockton where he can facilitate a lot of things—make a lot of passes, hit the open shot when he has to, and make people around him better." Payton was quick to add that he meant that Lin's playing style resembled Stockton's—not that Lin was destined to have a career like the Jazz Hall of Famer's.

Goran Dragic in every way, but Lin's basketball IQ is higher.

His bball iq is better/even, but he has worse fundamentals that Dragic. His passes are often slower/faster than the running man, which causes a lot of his turnovers. He is a much better finisher though.

I don't know about you, but Lin's full court passes are generally always thrown so the runner can catch it in stride to layup

I love his full court passes. He does a great job with those for the most part.

And, as an aside, I think Asik is a terrific outlet passer for a center.

His fullcourt passes are amazing :)

But in the PnR, he makes some passes that are tough, tough to catch. Last year Tyson Chandler had the hands to catch those awkward passes but Asik stands no chance.

All evidence - stocky physique, bad jumpshot, quick hands, and excellent vision especially on the fast break - points a Jason Kidd-esque player who hasn't fully matured yet.

He'll probably not be the man-defender Kidd was due to his average lateral quickness, but Lin just needs to improve his decision making because the vision is there.

He is a cross between Stockton and Parker.
At this stage, he already has great court vision but not yet the passing ability to match it, though better at both than Parker. His penetration looks Parkersque at times, but far not as threatening. It'd be better for him to actually further reduce his driving speed in exchange for control a la Stockton/Nash. His defense is deceptively effective, as evidenced in quick recovery after being beat, definitely top tier among all PGs and better than both Parker and Stockton.

Once he develops the teardrop a la Parker, stabilizes his jump shot, improves his passing further, he will be ranked between Parker and Stockton in any offensive skill category.

Totally disagree. Maybe they have similarly quick first step, but Parker is faster.

Morey said Lin had an elite first step, that very few guys have. He didn't bring up Parker's first step as a comparison though.
