Thought it could go either way but Damontre Moore has declared for the draft. Still waiting to hear on Joeckel and Matthews.

I am calling it right now: Johnny Football and the Aggies come out unprepared and get crushed by a weak Oklahoma team in the weak Big 12.

I guess it could happen right? But... why would you think that they'd be unprepared and OU wouldn't? In the end it doesn't matter, it's a non-title game bowl. OU wins, TAMU wins, nobody will remember 10 days later. Completely meaningless game IMO. Doubt a recruit's decision hinges on the game in any way.

This is a very big game for A&M:

    1. Manziel and offense with out Kingsbury? Will it work without him playcalling. Can Manziel avoid the last Aggie QB curse in that they ten to play very well out of the gate and then can never live up to expectations in Bowl games and in following seasons?

    2. Bowl Monkey off their back? I couldn't even tell you the last time the Aggies beat a decent team in a bowl game. It has been that long. Just to re-invigorate the fan base and restate that this really is a different era not just a flash-in-a-pan season/program that will crumble soon.

    3. Prove that the Bama win was not just 1 game. Sure the Bama win was legitimate, but to truly say you can be an upper echelon team, you have win multiple games of that level every year, especially in the SEC. Aggies' record this year is still only 1-2 againt such teams.

    4. Set up team for higher pre-season ranking next year. This will be huge for Aggies as their pre-season ranking could be a major factor if they have to hope for an At-Large BCS big or even be in the MNC conversation.

    5. You never know what will/can change a recruits decision on where to go, and there are some kids still deciding between OU and A&M. Always better to have scoreboard and bragging rights. Plus Given how Texas lost to OU, a win could be spun for bragging rights there as well.

For OU, I think this is a very big game for Bob Stoops. No he is no danger of being let go any time soon. However, I have a strong feeling that he is creeping dangerously close to being thought of as in the tail end of his coaching career and "on borrowed time". When was the last time, OU lived up to their expectations and were a true MNC contender? How has OU done against Top 10 teams or in bowl games the past few years?

Recently, he has not fared all that well, and it could well start to color how his program is viewed fairly soon.

Also with Texas in a bit of lull, OU has to hold the mantle for being the face of the Big 12. No other team has consistently shown they can do that for the Big 12 other than those two teams. Who knows how good KSU will be after Klein is gone. Unclear if OSU can regain that perfect recipe of a few seasons ago. TCU and WVU still has to prove they can do it in a better conference. Everyone else are totally unpredictable season to season. Yes, I realize the Big 12 was strong overall in that there were only a few dud team, and number of good teams that beat up on each other. However, conference power often tend to be more judged by elite teams for good or bad.

They were in the national title game in 2008. They finished #6 in the country in 2010. They are 4-4 vs top 10 teams in the last 5 years, and have won their last 3 bowl games, including a BCS game. They could finish in the top 10 again and win their 4th straight bowl game with a win against A&M. Bob Stoops is nowhere close to the end of his career or on a downhill slide.

Here are my two cents on OU vs. A&M. TAMU was very successful in SEC play. However, I think that can be attributed to the fact SEC teams never see spread offenses. OU, on the other hand, plays spread offenses every week in the Big 12.

I think OU stops Manziel and the Aggies' offense (to a point). OU 38 TAMU 28

They *see* spread offenses all the time, but it's not like they stop them. They faced the conference's best spread offenses in 3 of the last 4 games of the season, and Baylor scored 34, West Virginia scored 49, and Oklahoma State scored 48. They won all 3 - but the key was outscoring those teams rather than stopping them. A&M should put up plenty of points - the question is just whether OU can put up even more.

Who cares about what they do Friday without Kingsbury? They have an entire offseason to figure it out. And curses haven't been scientifically proven to exist.

Win or lose, still doesn't matter. This mythological monkey actually has no impact on getting a BCS game next year.

They don't have anything to prove to anybody. Again, still doesn't matter.

I don't think the voters buy into the meaningless end-of-year bowl games when calculating rankings. Losing 3 guys to the NFL in the first round, that's something to consider, not winning or losing a meaningless game.

    Bragging rights, sweeeeet!

Game doesn't mean anything man. Its for entertainment. Nothing more.
