What does mental health issue have to do with going to the DLeague? Have you even read his statements and tweets? It IS an ego issue with a mental twist, which is worse because you can't even reason with him. And he is a built-in excuse for not complying with any team #protocol he doesn't like. Not an ego issue, you tell me?

welp, this gamble of drafting him didnt work out, o well. Cut him and move on. They should sue him to get their money back. or at least hopefully they have some insurance for this nonsense.

Why all the talk of cutting him? He is away from the team and doing no harm. Might as well try to get him in a jersey even if the chance is very small.

After he made references to mass murder,I would never feel comfortable being a team mate or even having this guy in the organization.

I don't see the point in cutting White now. The salary is small and the roster spot itself won't get us an all-star. It's up to the front office and the coaching staff to try to salvage the situation somehow. That's their job. We fans shouldn't have to worry about this situation.

If Terrence Williams couldn't distract the team while traveling and practicing with them, I doubt White can do so while isolating himself. Let this play out while he's under contract.

He's a young man with problems and a lack of perspective.

I say we just fine him his salary. Let him be a beggar under 59 soon so I can throw coins at him. Pennies of course...

doesn't this guy realize that the nba is it for him? that he needs to try and make this work? he has no college degree, a criminal record, and a mental health issue so really there's not too many other options.

here he has a 7 figure job with an employer ready to work with him and he is on twitter every 10 min b****ing and moaning. he's got to at least make some kind of effort here.

This is spot on... it doesn't matter what the illness is. He has to make it work or else his future is really, really bleak.

It doesn't force anything, as far as we know. Everything hinges on the specifics of this protocol and which doctors have suggested it. It is telling that Mr. Transparency likes to yap alot on twitter but deosnt want to touch specifics with a ten foot pole. Promises of playing time cannot and should not be made.

If he wants to make commitment, then come through on the one he made when he signed his contract. Show up for work.

What the hell does he want the Rockets to do exactly? That's all I want to know before I make up my mind on this. Right now it just seems like he doesn't want to play basketball... at any level.

I really don't understand this protocol stuff. Seems like he wants doctors to tell the coaches how to deal with him. He doesn't like the coaching staff telling him how he should be handled as an NBA players. What i don't understand is, where does this stop. Does he want doctors to him how much he should practice so he doesn't freak out? How many plane rides he can take? Whether it is okay for him to be called up and sent down often because it might ruin his routine? I just don't get where the protocol comes into this. The front office is not going to let doctors dictate basketball decisions as heavily as he wants. He is going to have to be cut. I really cannot see this going any other way.

Wow, couldn't make this up! Surely this sequence of events is unprecedented in the NBA (and in pro sports in general)?

I am a mental health professional, and I recommend daily ritual genital bloodletting.
