Many guys joke, but we do need a mobile QB. Maybe not VY (which hell at this time I'll give him a shot). Think about it, no audibles, bootleg and just throw to the open reciever. If not open run it. That is his game. Won't have to read defenses.
the thing is some of you are so enamored with this concept of a "mobile" qb when a lot of times you guys fail to realize is mobile qb's usually make more mistakes, make more turnovers, and are injury prone.
Enamored. excuse me sir cause I'm not. I just want a QB that can at least escape the pocket and not fall down with a two hand touch. They don't have to have VY, Vick, or RG3 mobility, but hell at least look like you have working legs.
i'd rather try to bring in better offensive lineman who can block because this crapshoot of qb's is a gamble im not willing to go all in just yet.
Yes better offensive lineman would help, but Schaub has to still be able to extend the play. especually knowing his arm strength isn't that great. i said it before, Schaub can manage games but if you ask him to win them, he is limited to what he can do. Yes he won a couple for us this year, but against weaker teams. None against the upper echalon. I root for Schaub cause he is my favorite/hometown team QB, but he is not a QB that just takes over games. If he is then Kubiac needs to let go of the reigns.
what goal do you have for this team. a super bowl? what mobile qb out there right now has won a super bowl or is even available? because to win a super bowl in this league you need an ELITE qb or an elite defense/ST. i'm not talkin faux elite either. i'm talking Brady, Manning, Rodgers elite. teams go decades looking for that qb. we all know schaub isn't elite but i'd rather build the team around him than just risk going in the dark ages just because we don't have an elite qb. i understand the texans are struggling right now but people are acting like the texans are 4-12.

You don't need an elite QB. All we need is someobe to had the ball off, be able to run a bootleg, throw to open reciever and able to extend a few plays with his leg (which Schaub can't). but oh well. we are stuck with him.
