The problem with Player Only Fans is that once the player leaves, so do you. That is why they are hated. On court, it is Harden. Off court, it is Delfino. He's one funny muthatruckar.
1. Maybe they really care a lot about Lin's numbers. But what stands out to me is the interview Lin had after dropping 38 points vs spurs. He's depressed and sounded like losing 38 points. From what I saw in a Lin's only fan forum, they didn't like that much cause their hero's unhappy. 2. I sincerely hope you are right, cause our fan base wouldn't shrink a bit! But even they did like what I said, they will either gone or end up in the same family. Thats why the future is freaking bright! LOF cares about 1 person, they are the easiest group to be satisfied though But as rockets fan, we want rings sooner rather than later! Ofcourse, I hope Lin still contributed to that, even as a sub is fine! Imagine some people are so excited with their hero joining a young new team, they are just like Douglas on the court, too excited and naughty around, while the vets here still moaning the loss of 2 good if not great PGs, it's clearly some mismatch for the groups I guess. But, I mean, it's far better than anticipated already, cause at least not banning all 2012ers from posting or some personal humiliation. Everything's gonna be fine.
I know right? The poll asked who is your favorite player on the team. And when people say it's Lin, they are now Lin Only Fans. So ridiculous. I have not bashed any other player on the team and I thoroughly enjoy watching the Rockets games and darn it, I even like Douglas. If we were to follow their logic, we can say that anyone who did NOT vote for Lin is a Lin Hater. Luckily, we have brains.
I actually find nothing wrong with that sort of bandwagoning. If they leave, it doesn't hurt you any. I'm not one to judge a person based on when or why s/he stays or leaves. In my opinion, what is arguably the most frustrating about Player Only Fans is that they tend to blame others for the faults of their favorite player. It happens through various degrees of favoritism; the illogical POFs at the end of the spectrum (coaches are racist!!!) are the ones that annoy me.
People are upset bc a ROCKETS player is getting a lot of love. From reading these comments, you would have thought Lin played for a different team. How disappointing.
People are not upset, some posters are. People love Jeremy lin, no doubt about it. The silent majority tells all.
Parsons and Asik, definitely. Parsons is fearless, and altho has struggled some lately... he makes good decision, shoots well from different spots on the floor, and isn't afraid to put his head down and drive. His defense aint too shabby either. Asik has surprised me, and its GREAT that he's already tall with a large frame, but the fact that he rebounds well, defends pretty well, AND is playing better around the basket makes me very happy. The amount of Lin-favs surprises me a little, not because he's not good... but just because I don't think he's 2000+ votes "better" than the others. Its easy to say Harden and Lin, but I've only "loved" Lin a few games this season. Harden? Maybe 50%. I do really enjoy watching this group on average tho. Sure we'll need to evolve and get more experience, but its GREAT to be where we are and so young/new to one another.
OMG! This is not fair! It's like the AllStar voting all over again! Lin got all his relatives from China to vote!
Most people that joined oct-nov 2012 and voted for Lin are most likely LOFs and came here because of him. If lin leaves you will most likely not post in this forum
For posting this^^^, I received another comment today lol This is a poll, we voted fair and square. Some people are sore losers. lol And by the way, my ego is jusssst about right!
Do you miss Lin fans already? Do you need a hug? People come, people go, people move on, people lose interests, out with the old, in with the new. This board has 53,000+ members and only 3,100+ have voted. We live in the moment. Let's enjoy our current roster together.
