Bucher wasted an entire article comparing Morey to Kahn but if illustrating the point that sometimes even Morey makes idiotic decisions, citing the Royce White pick is more than enough.

Get rid of this clown ASAP. He is a thief and has set mental health awareness among professional athletes (a serious issue that deserves real attention) back ten years or more.

there is no nba team that would waste time or money on this scam for fear that they too would look foolish...even more so given the chain of events.

You guys remember what he's aid when we drafted him? "The took a chance on me I won't let them down" what happened from there to know? He is his worst enemy. Makes me so mad that he doesn't realize how lucky he is. Everybody on this forum will day for an opportunity like this one.

I use to have faith in the guy, but as of now...**** him. He needs to go. Tired of his act now. He can go overseas in rot. I really wish the Rockets had not wasted a draft pick on him, but for me that was in hindsight. I thought he was going to overcome this anxiety stuff and we all loved him after the "he didn't want no part of me" from the summer league. He has tarnished all of that now. Forget him.

    Excerpts from Royce White's statement:

It sounds to me like White is unhappy for any of these three possible reasons:

    1) The Rockets decided to override a specific suggestion/demand made by White's doctor.

    2) He wants his doctor to have the final say on all medical-related decisions

    3) He wants a doctor of his choosing to be on the payroll of the Rockets (big assumption on my part and probably not)

BTW this whole ordeal has been frustrating, but it's also fascinating. I'm wondering how far the Rockets are willing to go to accomodate this one player.

Somebody already told you what happened from there. He signed a contract. The end.

This is all about money. Unfortunately the NBAPA will likely fight for his one player likely at the future detriment of many more to come. Why draft a player with anything close to White's mental issues in the first round ever again? At a minimum, likely the Rockets won't, but considering most teams weren't willing to take a risk on white anyways it's pretty much a lost cause.

While going unrealistically to the other side of the spectrum, allowing the Rockets to cut White, not have a salary impact and receive a replacement pick would incentivize teams to take these risks. The proper middle ground should be to allow the Rockets to void his contract, no pick replacement.

He's not unhappy. He just isn't a huge fan of basketball. He likes it... But not enough to spend time in rio grande or travel with a team to see no minutes. So this is his way of staying super rich, having time to do other stuff, and not having to put in effort he's not willing to do.

It's not about mental illness, it's about a facade of mental illness.

I'm ok with a head case who will at least show up and play, but this is friggin' ridiculous.

The Royce White experiment has got to end. Cut and cut clean.

Royce should have a heavy dose of reality. So many good players can't get into the NBA.

Morey can rest assured no NBA team will take him. Just waive him. I think it will be Les Alexander with the guts to cut him. Just add extra security around TC and the team, and I mean it.

Knowing what they know, the Rockets would probably not have drafted White.

But let's say this type of behavior manifested itself after he was drafted and before he signed a contract. I wonder if they would have signed him anyway, in hopes that his situation would improve, or would they have cut their losses right there and then.

After all, in interviews Morey said it took White some time to adjust to a new setting and become productive. Is the current push-and-pull something Morey still sees as an acceptable period of transition?

It's funny how all this blew up and he disappeared when first assigned to the DLeague. He's a douchebag and Rockets need to cut ties with this guy.

    A. They already look stupid. Morey is lucky to still have a job after this. And this is from one of the biggest Morey fans out there. Other gms would have been fired under different conditions.

    B. they might not even deal with legal action and just waive him to avoid a legal mess. They cut how much in guaranteed $ before the season to make the 15 player max? IMO they might just waive him to avoid more negative publicity.

    C. No team will sign him without a non guaranteed contract to take away any power Royce has to negotiate anything. Maybe he gets picked up. Maybe he doesn't but it doesn't happen without anyone thinking A. Didn't happen.

Don't think Morey would've been fired since one of the 3 Rox 1st rounders didn't work out. He took the chance since we had those multiple picks and I don't think anyone would've faulted him for it.

We need the roster spot more than you, Royce.

Go home to Iowa. You're no longer wanted here.
