We're 12-4 and about to head to the playoffs. Will you at least wait until they're cleaning out their lockers before you go apes**t and want to blow up this team? (make no mistake, ditching Schaub effectively locks this team out of the contention for another 2-3 years)

I've said it before, I'll say it again. Schaub is here to stay. We cannot upgrade that position in the next 3 years.

Every single suggestion of how to replace Schaub has been laughably stupid (either a total talent downgrade or monetarily impossible). Save yourself the time and trouble and wait until Matt leaves to care about the Texans if you feel we cannot win with him. It will save you a lot of trouble.

Watch the replay. Even Dierdoofus pointed out that AJ gave up position to Davis. Matt had already let the ball go by the time that happened. Stupid prayer heave + poor execution by AJ = fail.

Donny...defending Schaub after the past month is a losing proposition.

12-4 is the wrong number to look at. 1-3 in the last 4 weeks is much more important right now.

That first INT by Schaub cost us 7 and the Colts scored on the turnover. That was ALL ON SCHAUB cause he has no arm strength.

Are you freaking kidding me? Of the 12 quarterbacks in this year's playoffs, it looks like 6 of them will be first- or second-year guys. This is a league with some VERY quick rebuilding cycles, as long as the right leadership (coach/QB) is in place. And no, you don't have to have a top 1/2 pick to do it. See Dalton, Kaepernick, Wilson.

So... if we started the year 1-3 and finished 12-4, and in the same boat, you'd think Schaub was awesome?

1st and 2nd year QBs leading their teams to Superbowls are not exactly a common occurrence. I figure you, of all people, would realize that.

What has happened with the Redskins, Colts, 49ers, Seahawks, etc. is the exception, and not the rule. You know this.

i dont see schaub showing up for a divisional round game thats going to be in either mile high or foxborough.. schaub will do enough to beat the bengals but his featherweight skillset will be overwhelmed by heavy weight qbs throwing haymakers..

    Yes of course I would.

Its never about how you start. Its ALWAYS about how you finish.

This is a man's league. Teams will adjust to you and your style of play. Thats what the NFL has done to Schaub and Kubiak. And they haven't responded.

    PERIOD.

If this team, by hypothetically going with a young quarterback, finds itself in the playoffs but not a true contender... that's no different than the situation we're in now. And at least in that scenario, there's theoretical upside. I've honestly never felt more hopeless about the franchise than I do right now.

Schaub hasn't even throw a pass in the playoffs yet and already we're hopeless?

Good grief, guys. I know today sucked, but let's wait for the body to turn cold before we bury it.

And where are the Texans at now exactly? You think they are contenders? Look at what Harbaugh did when he saw that his team was becoming stagnant. Started the backup, younger QB with more upside, over keeping the veteran as the starter. Kubiak should be doing the same thing, but I don't even know why I entertain that thought. That will never, ever happen with him as coach.

Please stop with your common sense.

That's not a positive when you've been in the league for 9 years.

are you even sure now??? I think the Bengals, at least believe they have a chance to steal a game in Houston. Houston is not only beatable, but extremely vulnerable...I wouldnt be shocked if the Texans loose next week...

We have no momentum...zero nothing...and the Bengals just came out of no where and leapfrogged the Steelers...

The Bengals are playing very well right now...

Schaub ain't ready for the playoffs. It's going to be brutal guys. If he couldn't handle the pressure of a few regular season games, where the #1 seed was up for grabs, imagine him when it's a chance to get to the actual big dance.

Schaub wasn't even that bad today is the thing. He had 2 picks, one of which I thought was his fault and one of which I thought was just a great play by the corner, but why is nobody mad at the special teams or the defense for giving up a 70 yard touchdown on 3rd and 23? Why is it always Schaub's fault if he doesn't bring us back from huge deficits?

Uhh, the 49ers went 4-1 without Kaepernick.

Since then, they've gone 4-2-1 with him.

And they're 2-2 in their last 4 games with 2 embarrassing losses to division foes that might have cost them a first round bye.

Not exactly the best example of a team on the upswing because of a QB change.

The position Schaub is in with the Texans is the same position Alex Smith was in the 49ers. The 49ers decided they needed a playmaker over a great game manager and made a change despite their game manager being better than the Texans' game manager. Whether that works out or not is still to be determined.

The Texans have to decide whether they can rebuild their top 5 running game and defense. If they think they can, Schaub can still work. If they can't, they should at least start the process of looking for a playmaker QB - either in the draft or free agency. I think this season and last set the bar higher than "make the playoffs" going forward, and Schaub's ceiling is lower than other potential options. He's not going to do much if you don't have the top tier running game and defense. On the flipside, his floor is probably higher than anyone available so a change could be a total flop too.

It's rare that you get an opportunity to pursue a Peyton Manning, and there's no question that you chase him if you can. They missed the boat there, but that doesn't mean you don't still at least look at other options that aren't at that level.
