The Texans offense was smooth and a joy to watch. The quick gains consisting of short passes, slants, and long passes to increase our momentum throughout the game. I don't know if the Packers exposed us, but we seem to be missing the short gains from passing the most. I think it's because we don't make any long passes, therefore teams tighten up the defense.

    Our offense consisted of:

    50% running the ball
    30% short passes
    20% mid to long passes

We need more mid to long passes or else teams will tighten up on us every time. Is Schaub taking less risks, are players not running for the home run, or is Kubiak cracking down on Schaub for making long passes?

If the Texans get embarrassed next week, I do hope something does happen to our OC...fire him
Demote Kubiak to offense, and give the reigns to Wade. This team needs a significant change. The offensive woes dont happen to good playoff teams, and right now we are lucky to be in the playoffs...

He can't call an audible, this is a huge issue that has not been an issue until now.

How much of that is on Schaub? Could it possibly be on Kubiak?

We've been using our tight ends a lot less for whatever reasons.

And it also seems if Schaub can't make the perfect throw for those long (30+) passes. I see many times where Andre adjusts to Schaub's inaccurate throws.

True, this issue should have been addressed much earlier in the season. Teams know what the Texans are doing. I don't know if it's too late to implement that into our offense going into the playoffs.

I think Schaub needs to realize interceptions are part of the game and you do your best to limit them, but that doesn't mean you play scared. Long passes are what gets everyone fired up, including the defense. A fired up defense gets interceptions, sacks, and scores.

    They have trust issues:
    1. They only run to one side of the ball.
    2. They throw to only Andre Johnson.
    3. Offense is too conservative!

Yeah, I bet that demoting our offensive playcaller to offensive coordinator will fix our offensive woes!

While Brown/Smith/Myers have been their solid selves we aren't seeing the cutbacks up the middle for Foster that we saw last year due to guys like Winston and Briesel... The pass protection has also been weaker due to those two being gone.

I really think it all comes down to those two being gone. Caldwell wasn't bad but he has been injured for a while....

We are no longer an elite offense.. We arent good enough on offense anymore to beat better/even talented teams unless the D plays great... Now that the D isnt as dominant, it looks like the Offense is underperforming... The writing has been on the wall since the beginning of last season... Our offense just doesnt have enough speed sans Johnson to carry us anymore against good teams....

I really don't think it's the play calling. It's the personnel all around. When you have a QB with an average arm, no mobility, who will go fetal position at the first sign of someone in his face and you have a running back that can't break a tackle and slips/falls all the time like he's on ice skates then you need to have a really solid offensive line to enable the QB and RB to make plays. The right side of our line is trash and it blows up the entire offense when you can't run the ball effectively. Even the roll outs don't work anymore because they don't have to respect the run, they know Schaub sure as hell can't run, so they'll just cover guys downfield until Schaub forces one in there or just throws it out of bounds. With a QB like Schaub you need a really good line to enable him to make plays. Schaub is who he's always been but the line isn't.

    What happened?

This is a man's league. The rest of the NFL caught up to what we were doing, and Kubiak is incapable of adjusting and/or Schaub is incapable of executing.

    Simple as that.

It's the same Schaub that threw for the most yards in 2009 out of all the QB's and led the team to a 9-7 record despite a mediocre team. The coordinator that season was Kyle Shanahan, and since he left, Schaub has never been as good.

calling a wr screen one 3rd and 9 that goes nowhere to where you have to settle for a FG

calling a run to the right side of the o-line (that has been **** all year) on 3rd and 2

and calling screens and draws on 3rd and long because you're scared to throw the ball is on kubiak.

the 2 times they actually tried throwing the ball past the yard markers on 3rd and long the texans got a 1st down and a pass interference call. that's what happens when you don't play conservative.

i'd rather play to win than play not to lose at times.
