What exactly are the doctors' recommendations that White says HOU refused to take?

I had social anxiety issues as a kid growing up, but one thing I enjoyed was playing basketball during lunchtime or at drop-ins. That was the one time I felt comfortable. White doesn't seem like someone who is completely crippled by anxiety, in fact, he seems relatively calm in interviews and those draft videos, and he did play and contribute productively in college and even has a wife and kids - I really feel like he's using anxiety as a crutch and excuse for more demands.

Alright, I'll try to remain calm...

Judging from his statement he is more ill than I thought. The question is: is his health gonna improve? I am gonna give home the benefit of a doubt, that he is not just a prima Donna wanting a special treatment, but that he really has problems that prevent him from playing. But if that's the case, I don't think there is much the Rockets can do to help.

Medical help, allowing him to see his own doctor, allowing him to take a bus - heck maybe even a separate locker if that's what it takes - all of those things you could talk about. But it seems like Royce expects something else - something like a constant day to day evaluation with his doctors calling the shots - and probably some more stuff (promised minutes, clear role on the team...). And that will most definetly not happen.

Right he Royce is showing, that he is not fit to play and is disrespecting the Rockets at the same time. The question is: will that change? I wouldn't hold my breath.

From now on every employer that knows about the White situation will think twice about signing an employee with anxiety disorder - I doubt we will see another one drafted early in the upcoming years.

It may hit be his fault that he is not playing - but it is his fault how people with anxiety disorder are viewed now...

maybe the d-league game schedule has a conflict with his tweeting schedule. if they just move a few of the games by a day or two then maybe he'll get on the bus and head down to the valley..

Makes little difference to void his contract. It's only $1.6M in extra cap room.

As for compensation pick, not aware any situation where a team has gotten them. Remember #2 overall pick Danny Ferry went to play in Europe instead of playing for the team that drafted him? Remember Fran Vazquez, drafted in 2005, still hasn't played one minute in the NBA? Also, remember guys like Oden whose pre-existing physical injuries prevent him from doing much?

HOU took a known risk on White. Don't see how they can complain when it didn't pan out.

Royce was a big enough smooth talker to slam dunk the interview process.

There are certain people who can mislead without lying.

Maybe he should be an agent or an investment broker type.

That can be a high profile job too.

I really hoped that it wouldn't, but this has indeed turned into The Great Twitter Disaster. Where can we find hope that White will ever perform on the court for the Rockets, in the NBA or the D-League, which was established by the league in part to give players a chance to show what they can do, to earn time with the team that took a chance on them? To prove that another player should be released or traded to make room for them? To possibly end that player's paycheck playing in the NBA in order to put Royce White on the bench of the Rockets. In short, to provide someone like Royce White an opportunity to make his way to the end of the Rockets bench, with hard work down in the Valley. Something guys like Marcus Morris did, and we're seeing the wisdom of that system now, reaping the dividends of his very good performance at one of the the positions White might have earned himself, if he had simply made the effort.

How very, very disappointing. Royce White is now the biggest fool in the NBA, in my humble opinion.

    In Morey's world

He is an asset first and human second

This has conflict written all over it from the beginning

I believe him that he wanted to play once but got kinda scared of this whole NBA business side of the trade

so there is little to no possibility of him ever playing pro basketball with his limited potential .... he can't shoot, no real position, undersized at one and too slow at another

Doctor said: "NBA is not suitable for White." Damn, we really should have followed his doctor's suggestion at the very beginning before the draft!
