I will settle for second best (I'm sure one of those teams will get screwed). We don't deserve to be the best.
And there's no reason to believe this teams will have a wake up call and bounce back. They only did that after the Packers game. They've had quite a few "wake up calls" since then. Jacksonville. Detroit. New England. Minnesota. And they've never really responded. Maybe the Colts game @ Reliant but not really. This is a sad, dejected team. This was their last chance to get their **** together before the playoffs and they crapped the bed for the 3rd time in 4 weeks. There's absolutely no reason to believe they'll do anything in the next week to change their state of play.
I posted in the first couple of pages that they would lose, but this should light a fire for the Texans. 12-4 ain't a bad record, folks. Yes, they could have played better, but they weren't going to beat a Colts team playing like it's the Super Bowl for Chuck Pagano. I expect the defense and offense to come together for the deep play-off run and firmly believe that.
I am speechless, but I know what Kubiak and McNair will say...... Kubiak, "It's just football, Bob. Sure, I'm disappointed, but it just didn't go our way. We will go back to work, correct our mistakes, and ......." and go one and done McNair, "well, it didn't go so well today, but I am really proud of Gary and the players for the season they have had and I am confident that we will do well in the playoffs...." where we will lose to whoever we play
Well, I live in Australia...at least I can go to the beach today to ease the pain...I hope I just don't get hit in the back of the head with a Matt Schaub pass.
I REALLY want to believe this way but the same thing was said after each of our last losses. When we lose, we seem to put up no resistance. It is quite painful. If we can't beat this Colts team playing for Chuck Pagano... what does that say about the real playoffs?
What is our record in statement games? 1-4? last year Bengals W Patriots L Pakers L Colts L Vikings L
The last two games are the lessons that the Texans needed to learn. They get pasted by a hungry desperate team last week and this week a team with really nothing to play for comes out playing with fire. While the Texans play unfocussed and passionless. The Texans didn't play to win they played not to lose and that cost them. This just shows that in this league nothing can be taken for granted. Pagano is right you sign up to play 16 games and the Texans look liked the signed up for only to play about 10. Looking horrible in their four losses and basically getting lucky against Jacksonville and Detroit.
