Sam Presti drafted Cole Aldrich with the 11th pick and trade him as salary filler 2 years later.

Popovich drafted James Anderson and Corey Joseph with 1st rounders, and drafted Goran Dragic with a 2nd rounder... which he then dealt immediatly to the Suns.

I guess we can't trust these guys either, right?

I feel Royce has really crapped on his former coach Hoiberg as well.

The Rockets are not going to make any comments regarding White's mental health because that would be a major employment law violation. Any medical information that an employer has regarding an employee must be kept confidential - usually the health benefits department, HR and the direct supervisor are the only ones in the know.

So I would not interpret the Rockets' silence on this as secretive or nefarious - they're doing the bare minimum to respect White's privacy. It's only because White has no sense of self-privacy (which is his prerogative) that we have any details to this situation.

I would agree with Bill Bradley that the Rockets are probably building a case to have the contract terminated. And frankly, I would not be surprised at all if that's what White really wants - the timing of his actions and the constant twittering of vague grievances leads me to believe that he has no interest in playing for this organization. He's burned so many bridges that the only scenario that could fix things is to claim that all this drama was the result of a bipolar or schizophrenic episode and that he is now controlling it with medication.

But if his goal is indeed to get out of his obligations to the Rockets, I think White is overestimating the interest he'd get from other teams - if I were a GM, I'd have no interest in dealing with the all the nonsense that will accompany him.

Perhaps the real lesson here is that the Rockets should have asked White BEFORE they signed him to a contract whether or not he would require "reasonable accommodation" to perform his job as an NBA player. Maybe they did and he said no - we don't have the details and shouldn't until all this is resolved.

the chances of the players association agreeing with that would be zero, you'd probably have more chance of them disavowing White, just so that the one moron isn't a catalyst for stupid changes.

Also it's just not a good idea to have medical professionals whose loyalty is to the teams, not the patient.

This dude is incredible.. I hope he gets fined every penny he has and doesn't get a dime from that contract.

The Rockets where the only ones who wanted to take a chance on him, he isn't helping future players with his disability getting a chance in the NBA.

If I were the Rockets I'd take off the kid gloves and go hard ball on White.

Take him to court and get his contract terminated. He's an employee and according to the CBA rookies can be assigned to the D-League at any time, his refusal is in defiance of the CBA and his contract.

Here are the only remaining relevant questions:

    1) Is there a situation whereby the Rockets can void Royce's contract well within the CBA and legal system and insure no consequences?

    2) Is there a situation whereby we can receive a compensation pick if his contract is legally voided.

    3) How close is the present situation to meeting the criteria for the above questions?
