Because it was a stinging reminder of this team's fluke play this season. Sure we can beat up on decent and weaker teams. New England and Green Bay can do that too. But can we go toe to toe with the marquee teams in the league? Nope. Not at all. We may go far in the playoffs, without a doubt. However we cannot compete with the big boys just yet.
I just don't believe in that concept of football. The sport of football is more than just about having "playoff experience" and "being able to compete with the big boys". In any given game either team can win if they play better, or just get lucky.
Yeah sure. The "any team can beat any other team in any given night" is entirely real. However that doesn't mean its going to be a 50/50 matchup. Miracles and upsets between largely contrasting teams seldom happen, and usually that mantra applies to team that only vary margianlly in talent.
