    If he wants consistent playing time, playing in the D-league is the best way to get it.

    And Morey would be right. He doesn't have to listen to the psychiatrist's recommendation. Even if the recommendation wasn't consistent playing time, but rather just staying in Houston where he has his own home and family and he feels settled, Morey still has an obligation to the organization that is greater than the obligation he has to one player. He can't give Royce consistent playing time or exempt him from RGV assignment without undermining locker room chemistry.
