FTFY. Know someone who's 19-20 and is adamant that Kobe is GOAT.

Kobe is third best player of his generation. But no need to act like Jordan was greatest player or something like that.

If you adjusted those statistics for pace, you'd see a different picture entirely. For that matter, adjust those statistics for the overall team performance. In other words, what percentage of his teams points did Jordan score versus Kobe. Simple box-score stats don't say anything at that point.

You clearly did not understand what that dude was saying. The fact that you freaked out just makes it even better.

You obviously have no clue what hand-checking is.

Someone post the pic of MJ pulling up with a cigar in his mouth ridin in his Ferrari saying "Who's going to check me...." Juwon Howard, and Chris Webber looked at Calbert Cheaney Hahaha. I still laugh when I hear that story told by Webber whenever I hear it now, and again. Is is from some NBA TV show.

Well said, all well and good really. I previously said Harden's stats are inflated some cuz of the pace he plays. I like measures like that, they come in handy to make an accurate picture.

The other thing is, the OTHER things besides shooting.
    Assists, turnovers, rebounds, steals, blocks?

I also don't know the point being made this thread with a 1 season comparison. There's stats to show that Tracy McGrady was statistically better than Kobe Bryant in single seasons. David Robinson had better stats seasons than Hakeem. Does a single season win mean that player >>>> other player overall?

Rules. You had to guard Rodman even though he was no threat offensively. That's how he got 63 in a playoff game. He played isolation 1-on-1 whole game while other 9 players just watched. Still lost though.

They didn't have to guard Rodman. You could still double team and rotate, you just couldn't roam.

    The poster casually forgot that:

Jordan had a much better STL%, BLK% and a much, much better TOV%.

The TOV% difference is so huge that it basically cancels out any marginal advantage Kobe has over Jordan.

calm down boy . . . i stopped following the NBA after MJ retired. Not Kobe, Not Lebron, nor Durant can replace the GOAT. Reason why I am back following NBA is because of JLin. No JLin is not a great player, but I like his passion, his heart and his journey. Yes, I followed Jordan's journey, I enjoyed watching him play. All others are just copy-cats.

While there are more teams today than back then, you have to keep in mind the number of foreign talent in the leauge now as opposed to 20 years ago. That alone would even it out or even put the talent in favor of today's game.
