I know he is having a subpar season but this guy 2 years ago was putting up over 20 points a game and shooting around 40% from 3 point range. Everyone here is in love with Ryan Anderson, yet everyone seems to hate on Bargnani.

His contract seems reasonable if you can get the type of production he had a few years ago it might be worth a shot depending on what Toronto expects in return.

I obviously haven't watched many raptor games so i presume he sucks at rebounding and defense? In any case what do u guys think?

Nope. Not at all. Would you want him to be the right hand man next to James Harden? I bet not, because he would be paid like it.

Hell no. Both him and Anderson have put up nice stats in the past, but their on-court impacts have been underwhelming to me.

As if our team wasn't awful enough at defense to begin with

He is having a really bad season and his 3 point shooting has been horrible. At this point Patterson is probably better than him.

Doesn't sound like a team guy.

I know he pops a lot of 3's for a big man, and eats a lot of pasta (with Primo pasta sauce).
I have him in my basketball pool.

Seeing how the Rockets pop a lot of 3's...if Morey can get him for cheap, I don't see why not? He is a former #1 overall pick and is 7 feet tall and can score in bunches. Maybe he can be a poor man's Dirk.

Terrible defender and rebounder for his size on a bad contract, weird-looking elbows, would not bang.

Can we even scrape up $8 million without trading away half the roster (not including our core)?

I would have no interest in having him on the roster. We already get similar production from 2Pat.

Bargnani at center and Patterson at pf. The dreamiest team to ever space the floor.

We don't need selfish players anymore (I don' say we really have them at all)!!! We need some kind of players like David Lee or Ryan Anderson type of player to be real contenders for championship.

Maybe they could package him with Kyle Lowry? That guy seems pretty good!

Problem is he has 2 yrs on his deal AFTER THIS SEASON at roughly $11M per. This will pretty much extinguish all hope of having significant cap room until his contract ends. So unless he showed huge improvement he will hurt HOU's pursuit of another star. Right now even if TOR give him for free HOU is better off just keeping their (max) cap room.

I agree, also it isn't as if his contract is for 5 more years. His contract will be up when the likes of Love and others become Free Agents.

Ah, I was under the assumption his contract was up at the end of next season. Damn that definitely kills it for me.

I am likely the only person on this board who at least won't say no outright. I still would say no because I think he'd be a ridiculous liability on defense. And because we have gazillion PFs. But the fit on offense would be pretty good. His lack of rebounding is minimized on this team, which wants PFs to play on the perimeter anyway. His style fits with the team perfectly as a floor spacer and the ability to get to the rim.

But from the few times I've watched him, big 4s destroys him inside and stretch 4s kill him on the perimeter. He can't defend against anybody.

Woah, surprisingly I'm not the only one who thinks this might work. But the Rockets staff better do work on making sure his defense is salvageable though.

If he's no better than who we have, what's the point.
