I don't really care about if he is the underdog, I still like Lin though. I voted for Harden, but I think If i could choose again I'd go for Parsons
If you are a real Lin fan then you should support what Lin supports. Jeremy Lin is a huge Rocket fan and if you really are a Jeremy Lin fan then he would without a doubt want you to be a fan of the Houston Rockets. Jeremy works his butt off trying to improve his game and he takes hard fouls and is knocked to the ground, he gives his blood, sweat and tears trying to make sure that the Houston Rockets win because his is such a fan of the team he is on. Do you see how he high five's his teammates and gets along so well with them? To say you are a Jeremy Lin fan and not a Houston Rocket fan is really and insult to this nice young man. It's like being a fake Lin fan, saying oh yea Jeremy we are great fans of yours but we don't care about the team that you love so much or we don't care about your teammates that you get along well with and work hard to win games. If you are a person saying that you are a Lin fan but not a Rocket fan then maybe you should take some time and think about the situation a little deeper.
All of the above being said, it is so much more fun being a fan of the team and not just one player. I'm a Jeremy Lin fan but I am also a fan of Harden, Parsons, Asik and others on the Rockets. Give it a try you really don't know what your missing.
According to the logic of some of the ppl here, those ppl voting for Harden are all African Americans and those voting for Parsons are all white.
So basically we have roughly....let's seewe have roughly...850 Asian posters, 460 black posters, and 310 white posters, and 16 aliens who have voted.
LOL. yes, that's about right. Seriously, I think it is reasonable to assume that about half of the Lin votes are from Lin fans before they came here. That's still leave him one of the more well-liked players on Clutchfans.
Donatas Montiejunas for me. I love that guy and cannot wait until he starts to get regular pt. Potential oozes from every pore on that man.
i love them all. the only one i didn't was Douglas. but i've been warming up to him as long as he keeps hitting the 3s.
It's safe to say most posters here are fans of Lin. Some are LOFs but I think most are Rox fans who also like Lin the most for whatever reason.
I actually do like Lin as well but the difference between #1 and #2 in popularity is ridiculous. Almost as bad as Arian Foster competing against Dallas Cowboys backup offensive linemen in a Houston popularity poll. Oh well, don't really mean jack, hope all of them have great games tonight.
Without a doubt, Lin is my favorite player not only on this Rocket team but in the entire NBA. On this Rockets team, I also love Harden as I came from an area near his high school and have known about him longer than Jeremy. So why Jeremy? What Jeremy has shown the world through Linsanity is how fun and excellent real basket ball can be, when it's played the right way as a true team, without any ego and superstar. After his breakout last season, I went back and looked into his past and found some common themes in comments from those who played with Jeremy, that he is a winner and a true leader, and people have had the most fun when playing with him. He was overlooked and under-rated before Linsanity, and then overly criticised and scrutinized, even maligned, after Linsanity but strangely still overlooked and under-rated by many. Yet he always handles all the pressures and negativity thrown at him with class and humility. He humbly owns up all the criticisms and returns love for blind hatred. More importantly, he constantly works hard to improve all aspects of his game and let his game do the talking for him. What Jeremy has gone through in order to be where he is today is the embodiment of "true grit."
I'm grateful for this poll. At least now when people bash my favorite player, I won't feel like I actually need to say something, cos I know that the silent majority don't agree with them and are just ignoring. As I should. Thanks OP!
People have a lot of emotions invested in Jeremy lin, feeling anguish when he's going badly, more than made up for it with joy and excitement when Linsanity gets going.
Lin. He's the stereotypical underdog story that got way too much exposure in such a short time. Would love to follow his career and prove some people wrong.
