What are you even talking about? I wasn't even addressing the coaches. I was responding to this guys post...
I thought Lin did a pretty good job on Parker actually. Much better than Tony. There were a few dumb stuff like bailing him out by leaving his feet but for the most part the effort was there. Agreed on Patterson on the defensive end.

I'm not going to lie but as much as I love Asik's production on the glass and defensively, he is so frustrating to watch sometimes on the offensive end. I just wish he can catch the ball when a teammate passes it to him and him going up strong to dunk the ball instead of sometimes making it more difficult on himself by trying to make a difficult layup instead of going up strong.

We had more wide open 3's than they did, heck Morris alone bricked about 5 of them where he was 10 feet open.

Knicks are looking to offload him but Rockets have some cap. If they can get the Knicks to take some of the salary burden, he's a definite upgrade. STAT is still in his prime. I think he got 2 more years at a high level.

Noooooo, dude is in a STACKED NY offense. He can still dominate but that system is built around Melo, Chandler. He doesn't fit in but he can still play.

Posted this before but I can't find my post. So just posting it again for you guys.

Don't worry Rockets fans. The way we never give up, and always hustle, is THE reason why this young team WILL make the playoffs this year, and we will and should be a scary team to play in a 7 game series.

    Why, you may ask?

Because we are spontaneous as hell, and we can score. 7 games is more than enough for us to shoot lights out against our opponent with our energetic style of play. We got this Rockets fans. Let Harden do his "Hardening", let Lin strive to get back to "Linsanity", let Asik do his "Sick Smooth Rollin" to the basket for the creative twist and turn layup and let Parson's do his "Chandler Banging" in/to the basket. And we got this.

I am talking about people who have the nerve to complain about how Mchale is running the offense when we just dropped 116 on San Antonio. Not setting enough freakin screens for Jeremy Lin isn't why we lost.

Our defense is bad enough already and you want Stat in our team?

If we gonna make some noise in the western conference, we need someone like Josh Smith who could guard Durant, Griffin, Ducan, Z Bo.

I think coaching is banking off the fact that Harden and Lin can both beat their guys off the dribble, for the meantime. And they consistently do. The problem is after they penetrate, defenses collapse in on them. They'll continue to collapse until someone on the perimeter gets hot and poses a threat, or we have a big with a consistent inside/outside game that can open up holes. Which we didn't have tonight.

Even if Lin had picks set for him, the same thing would probably happen. After he gets past his defender, the rest of defense knows he's takin it to the hole (less likely to stop and pop), so they form a wall in the paint. That doesn't get solved with just a screen or a pick.

I've heard this argument, again and again. So, in your opinion, because we're scoring high, we should be content and not change anything on the offensive end?? Not true. Not true. At times, we just have to outscore opponents if we have to. There were a lot of isos yesterday and today. Iso jumpers at that. When Harden came in, you could tangibly feel the team ball grinding to a stop. I love Harden but the offense has to move more freely, and yes, that means more screens set and more pnrs. For everyone, not just the obvious pretend to move the ball around then give it to Harden up top. Pretty much most of our offensive potency comes from our boys creating on the break naturally, or via Harden on isos. Our offense has to be more dynamic.

Rockets will pay a hefty luxury tax for Stat's "ridiculous" contract.

Outlier, with all due respect I learned how to set screens in middle school, and really good screens at that. These players are playing at the highest level imaginable - the NBA - and they played at major Division I schools before then where I am sure they learned at some point how to set a screen. But my issue isn't with their ability to set screens, I am sure they know how, my issue is why isn't the coach calling for more of these to happen in a game to help facilitate scoring. It is just so frustrating when Harden has the ball, four other people are standing in one spot, and he is just expected to go one-on-one all of the time to attempt to score. I am not saying he should never do that in a game, but for crying out loud, mix in some screens and off-the-ball screens to make the game potentially easier instead of relying predominantly on one-on-one basketball.
