honestly have no idea why aldrich was playing so many minutes tonight. no idea. baffling.

only thought is that it is some kind of demo for a possible trade or something. why else would he come out of nowhere and play starter minutes in a competitive game when asik and smith are both available?

Well, we had a run, run, run game like what the owner wanted, but someone who's better at our game beat us.

Nah, he only has 3 fouls. He was held out by the coaching staff trying to get smart again. Those 17 minutes of Aldrich basically cost the Rockets the game. The dude was less than zero on the defensive end and didn't know how to rotate. WTF was he out there? Was Smith injured or something? It was a close game until that stretch of Aldrich killed us.

Just goes to show you that Morey is right, coaches trying to get smart is always going to hurt a lot more than it helps in the long run.

Despite the questionable officiating, I like what I'm seeing in this exciting game.

Given how good the Spurs have been for years and how young our team is, each time we play them, we are getting tougher for them to handle.

This is a good measuring stick for our progress and we'll only get better with time.

Need someone to step up and prove himself dependable. Hasn't happened yet. Smith, Delfino, Morris and Douglas showed themselves to be decent most nights. Other guys not so much. Would you rather we play Daequan Cook every game just so we can say we play 10?

Missing Patterson and Delfino tonight hurt down the stretch. Ran out of energy.

Well, other than those 3 everyone was average to bad. Morris and TD missed a bunch of open 3s

spurs have a great coach and they're just too smart and good. We're too young and inexperienced.

In fairness to Aldrich, the Spurs were getting easy baskets all night, even when Asik and Smith were playing. I was happy to see Aldrich get some time, we need to see what he can do. Aldrich has great size and is active, I'd like to see more of him. As far as the rotation goes, anyone can second guess a coach after the game is over. I'm sorry that Delfino was out tonight, Morris was cold from long range and Delfino might have helped.

Dude you sit him so he doesn't pick up a stupid foul like the one he picked up. Coaches sit players with 4 fouls in the 3rd because ANYTHING can happen that can get him that dreaded 5th. We were close to the spurs and playing well and i think they were playing their bench; we could have sat him.

True, but I still hate losing to them anytime.

Rockets need to get better at closing out and contesting shots. They allowed way too many open shots and poorly contested shots tonight.

Rockets played great offensively, but you're not going to win a shootout against the Spurs.

He is an obvious Lin fan posting on a Jeremy Lin blog. That doesn't change the fact that refball killed us.

    Just think about it.

    The calls against Harden...

Assigning Duncan's fouls on Splitter (and Jackson apparently, I stopped watching after it became obvious that the game was fixed).

They didn't call 2 moving screens from which Ginobili scored a 3 and they had a drive to the basket and then called offensive foul on Aldrich the next possession.

Just so you know, I am proud of Rockets and the heart we played with. However, it is tough to beat refball when playing against a good team.

The difference was the Spurs had D in the 4th quarter
We didn't and ran out of gas trying to out score the Spurs

Yeah, if you offset all those Green 3's to Harden's great offensive performance it kind of neutralize his impact on the game. But oh well, you take the lumps. It is a young team. Harden still needs to improve on D if he wants to be great.

Just stating facts. McHale ran the starters into the ground tonight, and tomorrow will be our 4th game in 5 nights. I'll be surprised if they keep it close.

Asik got in foul trouble and never was put back in rotation of game. Asik would have help down low but the Spurs overall were just red hot. They seem to not miss against the Rox. It's not a good match-up. I agree that our lack of consistent scoring PF showed tonight to contend with Duncan. Man, if this team had a legit 4 we would be set. The rest of the starting lineup is solid.
