Do you sometimes wish that the NBA had more Asian players?

China's poor performance was due to poor training regimes, swimming is a good example, they literally knew nothing about modern training techniques, biomechanics, cross training, etc. The amount of money they're paying international coaches to set up a modern swimming training program for example is astronomical.

China could increase their odds of winning if they'd cut down on 16/hrs 7 days a week of schooling.. so glad to be an American.

As a black man, I agree with this. Somewhere between the 80s and 90s transition, a lot of the american born white players stop playing basketball and started playing more extreme sports for some reason. I was really hoping a guy like tyler hansbrough, troy murphy, and wally s would be franchise type of players, but the didn't turn out that way. I do think the league would be a lot more popular if the majority had more players they could relate to ethically. Kevin love is agreat player, david lee is underrated, kaman had his run,but guys like jimmer,jj reddick, and guys like that haven't gotten to the chris mullin-tom chambers type of caliber. Jmo

A lot of it is genetic, black people have a higher center of gravity (which is why they're better athletes but worse swimmers, the two sports benefit from center of gravities in the opposite direction). The higher center of gravity corresponds to longer legs which will then typically translate into a longer wingspan (as limb size is interrelated). Especially now where where smalls need to be highly proficient in multiple factors, extra wingspan translates into a lot of factors.

Asians btw have the same ratios as white people, but are shorter (however they're far more numerous)

Sure that doesn't translate to everyone, but when you're talking the top 0.1% or smaller of a population demographic, it's typically going to be the ones who carry that genetic advantage to the max.

This may sound racist (my apologies if it offends you), but I always assumed that most black people weren't good swimmers because learning how to swim is expensive. It's the same reason that there aren't many good black golfers (golf is expensive) or tennis players (tennis is expensive).

Misconception. White people are the most "numerous". They occupy 5 continents through colonization and displacement of native people. Had Africa been more lush, and Asian civilization a few more centuries behind, they would have colonized the entire world.

Also, Asian people may be shorter statistically NOW, but they are not genetically shorter because they are Asian. It is mainly because of nutrition and environmental conditions. White people were short 200 to 300 years ago. You'll see a lot of tall Asian people in the northern cities of China, while shorter Asians in the rural areas, and to the south.

Black people in America are great athletes primarily because they went through slavery - a selection process that ensured only the strongest blacks survived. There are athletic black people elsewhere, but not as prevalent as in the Americas.

Guys, the OP is not a LOF or even a LOH. He's a troll that's creating this outlandish posts/threads to rile people up.

He knows that Lin is a very divisive topic and he's pretending to be a LOF just so everyone goes crazy.

Can we please not fall for it?

It all comes down to facilities and resources, ie not having proper pools and coaching at grade school age.

Da hell...might have to get to moderating thread creation around here.

If you are good enough to be in the league, you'll be in the league regardless of race.

OP you read my mind -- I think about this a lot -- why can't the NBA have more players from Asia?

    WHY..?

Is there a lock on how many 2012 tards' one can put on ignore. I've seriously never seen such an influx of idiotic mensa's invade this forum so quickly. They're like little ants when you step on their hill. Just a mess and everywhere.

    Please. Quit. Posting.

I do know the last great asian player was yao, unfortunate injuries derailed his HoF career...

Than Yi Jianlin got drafted and busted like a fat womens bosom...

No asain players have since been drafted or played in nba...

They're is a controversial and overly-hyped american named Jeremy Lin who people look at as asian because of skin color, when he is most definately American...

I personally wish to see more superstars and parody in the league...

it's really not, it's because of center of gravity, swimming, the larger your torso is, the faster your potential is, the reason being that, your torso is the part of your body that can "surf" above the water creating less drag.
