Do you sometimes wish that the NBA had more Asian players?

I wish ethnicity weren't an issue in basketball. It ruins the game.

It doesn't have to be. It's only an issue when people idiotically bring it up as if it's worth discussing.

    Kinda like this thread...

For the same reason Asian countries don't win the gold medal in the Olympics. They're not very good.

it's always going to be there... I could drain shot after shot, but if a black guy walks up tot he court people assume he's better than me when it comes time to pick teams... whites/Asians always have to "prove" they are good...

Which country has dominated the basketball gold medal in the olympics for the last 50 years?

So that means no country besides the US can play ball with the former soviet union, former Yugoslavia and Argentina a distant second.

    Quit while you're ahead.

I don't understand the point you're making. Because the second part of what you posted is completely true...

Historically, the only good basketball countries are the USA and some eastern european countries (Lithuania, Serbia, Russia, etc..) while recently Argentina/Spain are making a case.

I'm confused as to whether you are arguing that Asian countries are good at basketball or if you're on the side of them not being good at basketball.

    Also, as an aside:

Historically speaking, Asian countries don't really perform well in the bigger olympic events such as: Track, Basketball, any form of Swimming, Soccer, Wrestling, Field Hockey, Volleyball, Rowing, etc..

To be fair though a lot of Asian countries are just now developing fully and obviously China's remarkable progress in medals is noteworthy.

He looks slow in that video, including a slow handle. And the video is edited to where it only shows the shots he made. Do you have better videos? 'Cuz there was nothing impressive about that one.

The point I'm making is that cometswin's post is garbage and following through on his simple minded line of thinking would be what you quoted me.

At the time of the first Dream Team, Euro players in the NBA was a rarity, let alone the Western Euro variety. A decade later, drafting them in the lottery was the next biggest thing.

If you asked people then that Argentina, of all places, would win an Olympic gold medal and a FIBA win over American teams stocked with NBA players, they'd think you're crazy or that the future would head towards like how Robocop showed it.

Basketball is still a team sport. For people to suggest that Asians won't be competitive over time is flat out stupid. It's the same chumplike idiocy that lost us the gold over those years despite having so called Dream Teams.

I wish the NBA had the best players in the world, regardless of race. Would be great if more Asians, but currently not the case.
