ffs, I don't have anything against LOF, but the more time i spend on the GARM, the more annoying they seem to get. Im definitely starting to understand why LOF are looked down upon here.
I can read posts like this over and over again and not relate in any way. I'd be all for Jeremy Lin making the All-Star Game, if it was even remotely close. It's not. Put his numbers next to other candidates and you can't even BS your way into making sense of it. In fairness, his numbers over the first 4 games of this 5-game winning streak would put him in a conversation... but that's been just 4 games. I don't think he's going to make it so it likely won't matter, but all I was saying is there would be a backlash and negative reaction, and it wouldn't be good for Lin. I'd much rather he makes it when it's at least somewhat justifiable. This situation isn't unprecedented. Yi Jianlian got over 1.8 million All-Star votes in 2009, destroying both Paul Pierce and Chris Bosh and finishing third behind LeBron James and Kevin Garnett. He was only 250K behind Garnett. He averaged 8.6 points and 5.3 rebounds that year.
I vote for guys that I feel are deserving of it. While the All-Star Game is technically a popularity contest, most people use the label all-star synonymously with the best players in the league. Hakeem Olajuwon - 12 time all-star. Just go to his or any star player's Wikipedia page. They list all-star appearances under achievements.
BTW, Mainly of Chinese hate Korean/Japanese. So... don't ever try to dance like PSY if you want to please your Chinese friends.
I am a basketball fan because of Linsanity. Lin has be tremendous to the popularity of basketball. Lin is a star...
More evidence that China is NOT voting for Lin. Otherwise Lin would have received over a million votes by now. Yi Jianlian is Chinese. Yao is Chinese. China loves Yi, Yao, and Kobe. Lin is an American with a Taiwanese connection. Why is it so hard for Americans to accept that an American is popular not because of China but because of who he is as a person?
I haven't voted for all-star game so far. But I will start voting today just to piss off some morons.
Ops replied to the wrong question. That one was meant for the Chinese hate Korean/Japanese. I have no idea what that quantity quality thing you're talking about.
Another freaky evidence NBA is rigged lol, because if Yi getting into All-Star will be such a PR disaster, NBA simply rigged the #. I have seen how people voted all-star games in China, 250k is nothing for them, if they went that far, unlikely they would stopped at 250k short of their goal. I'm not happy with this all-star voting system, but it apparently a great tool for NBA to get fans attention + stir up controversies. Flawed system + rig is the way to go for now. So be calm, Lin won't get in, because I don't think even NBA would allow it unless Lin starts play Linsanity for the rest of season before all-star.
Role model Jlin deserves every vote he gets. His linsanity run last year shook not only the nba but the world. He's a inspiration to every kid that never got a far shot in life based on talent alone. He's the lone non-prima Donna voted in.
That doesn't even answer the question. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2253776/Giant-sculpture-Gangnam-Style-rapper-PSY-unveiled-China-kick-winter-festival.html
You know there are 1.4 billion Chinese on this planet right? So for example: if we assume 1% of them are dumb fools then that means 1.4 million Chinese are dumb fools.
