It would be nice to see what % capacity the attendance is at, rather than raw numbers.

Same thing happened last year with the Knicks. Opponent stadiums would sell out and reach their highest attendances in years whenever Linsanity came to town. Melo is a better player than Lin, just as Harden is a better player than Lin. But the crowds aren't coming to see Harden, but to see Lin. Linsanity was an American and global phenomenon, it brought in fans who haven't watched the NBA in years (if ever). The type of fans who stopped following the NBA after Michael Jordan left and came back for Linsanity. Casual fans who can't name any NBA players other than Kobe Bryant and LeBron James and have no idea who won the championship 2 years or more ago, much less any of the other players on the Rockets. They're not paying to see James Harden because some of them don't know who he is or have ever watched ESPN. You had Christian groups getting together to buy tickets or do viewing parties for Linsanity last year.

If Jeremy can really develop his game in a couple of years... I can't imagine what it will be like.

No doubt it's because of Jeremy Lin.

Last year when he was with the Knicks, everywhere they were on the road, there were large number of Lin fans showing up and those arenas had much better attendance than usual. All the other teams commentators mentioned that many times. Even Jonathan Feigen mentioned that there is much larger crowd chanting/screaming at Lin when ROX are on the road compared to previous years.

That's why for those who think Lin is mostly popular in Asia, you are wrong. He has huge number of followers right here in the USA, much larger than you have imagined.

What I want to know is how come the bobcats are the 13th for overall attendence, that's more than the spurs. I know spurs are supposedly a "boring" team, but the bobcats? I don't know how bobcat fans survive, the team gave them hope by winning 7 games early in the season and then killed it by losing thier last 20 or something

They rank 21st in home attendance, that number would be much better if the fans were able to follow the team on tv

Just pointing out the obvious but those followers are also mostly Asian. Nothing wrong with it, it's just a fact.

I like how you bolded Thunder. I wonder if Harden would have made the Thunder a higher ranked team. Maybe?

Besides, why wouldn't fans want to go to Disneyland?

Are ticket prices adjusted based on visiting teams? It's hard to believe that Kings rank fourth among 30 teams.

No mystery, the first American born player of Taiwanese/Chinese descent play in the NBA will do that. Asian fans, many older make it point to get tickets to their team go against the Rockets for a chance to see him play. Lin is also the reason why attendance is high this season in TC, which also unfortunately is influencing the comcast sports dilemma.

Home game attendance has increased this year, not dropped.

Of course it's Lin. I mean hell, Minnesota just set an attendance record last night against us (according to their broadcast). Dude's effect is crazy.

lol last year during linsanity i went to a bucks game.. normally very low attendance, it was like almost sold out, everyone was wearing Lin jerseys...every Asian in Wisconsin went and lots of other non-Asian fans as well. I mean, Jeremy is American... he has American fans too lol.

One of the home games I was at this year I sat at mid court in the upper level. I'm not exaggerating when I say that the crowd around me 80% Asian. I think it's great that they come out to support Jeremy Lin because whether they are Rocket fans or not I think a lot of them will eventually become Rocket fans.
