He is missing out, and he knows it.

This offense is made for him to succeed, a fastbreaking PF with dribbling and passing skills...are you kidding me.

    so sad

I liked him when we drafted him, but that has quickly changed. I stopped following his story so I have no idea what the problem is anymore.

You know what? Teams love to take a flier on a headcase, if we just let the whole thing carry on then White can keep blaming us for not having a #protocol in place - someone might just buy it and flip us a second round pick for his rights.

And if not, let's legally wrap him up.

He may have legitimate mental health issues. White certainly acts like it, so apparently the issues are real. What is also obvious, at least to me, is that he's afraid to play at this level. I think he's afraid to get on the court in the NBA and play. That's a damn shame, because he clearly has talent. Anxiety, fear, call it what you like, but Royce White is afraid of the NBA, in my opinion. Bummer. Looks like we'll get by all right without the guy, though.

    I don't want him back.

Royce, if you are reading this: Please stay away from the Rockets. Give up the NBA, get your life together and find something you are mentally fit to do. The sooner, the better.

There's no update there. He's not with the team, no timetable, same thing for weeks.

Yeah, apparently this thread will continue sporadically until White wakes up and smells an NBA court, or the Rockets figure out how to get rid of a useless dead weight. A pity that it's come to this.

Again, still the SIMPLE thing to me is,

Royce White DECLARED EARLY for the draft.

Doing that is him saying I'M READY TO HANDLE THE LEAGUE RIGHT NOW - I don't NEED to do ANYTHING else, I'm FULLY SET.

BOY did HE WAY OVERRATE his OWN mental readiness coming in LOL. He lied to himself first and foremost.

    WTF

I think its partly that. One of those types that are afraid of failing, or they're afraid of NOT being GOOD. So when they can't be good at something off natural ability, they don't even try.

A typical example of being HIDING behind "POTENTIAL".

Appears to be a big part of his problem, at least to me. White's losing what support he had here, and he initially had a great deal. Like I said, it's a pity. Royce may not be capable of doing it, but he should shut up, join the team, and do whatever management wants him to do to have a hope of any NBA career at all. And that doesn't look like it's going to happen.

You people forget that royce is only 21. 21. The rockets have a stable of young PF's and we are WINNING. The way i see it royce is on IR and he has the year to develop and mature. Hopefully these sessions with the staff help him mature and get him comfortable.

What the kid has is a serious illness and its apparent the only reason he acts like a diva on twitter is because its his way of dealing with it. Now we really don't know what he's doing behind the scenes with the rockets and how and when he is working out. Heck maybe he is using this time to improve his basketball weaknesses.

I'm hoping he comes back strong for next year's training camp and gives Dmo, Morris, and Patterson good competition for the starting 4 spot.

Never looked at it that way since he's been gone for so long but you are right. Seems like his skills could thrive in the way we are playing right now. What a shame.
