I want to hear from someone like me who LOVED Inglorious Basterds and think it's one of QT's best and compare Django to that movie. If I hear that it's better than Inglorious then it will hype this movie way up for me.
Just came from the theater to watch it, and it was amazing. I'm a Tarantino fan, and this movie delivered. Spoiler I couldn't believe that Dr. Schultz didn't want to shake hands with Calvin. If he did, he could have walked out alive, but then we wouldn't have witnessed what was probably my favorite scene in the whole movie afterwards.
Folks this is a good one, strap on in it's a long epic movie just like a good ol' western movie should... The soundtrack don't disappoint and Leo Dicaprio/Sam Jackson/Christoph Waltz are at the top of their game!!!
First of all, Pulp Fiction will always be QT best movie ever everything else he makes afterwards are like dessert, you like it but it's not the main course meal steak which Pulp Fiction is...
So it's similar to The Good The Bad The Ugly? Coz the trailers didn't make it look like a western at all. I loved TGTBTU. Oh and no, I prefer Inglorious over Pulp. I'm in the minority, I know.
It's more in vain with the original Django movie but with a kill bill vibe to it... The good and the bad is one of the best movie ever, me personally Django Unchained will not touch that status but still...... This movie is fantastic and one of my top films of 2012 along with the Hobbit...
Damn. Let's not talk about this too much yet guys. Let me go see it this weekend. I don't want to get left behind with the discussion.

It was entertaining and overall a fun watch but yeah it felt about half an hour too long. It's not as tightly orchestrated and artful as Inglourious Basterds was though.
It's 2:45. But IMHO it flows better than The Hobbit. The first hour or so goes by quick. The second hour flows similarly to the tavern scene/set up in Basterds or the Butch Taxi/Motel bit in Pulp Fiction. The final 40min are just balls to the walls Sam Pekinpah style action western I personally thought it was better than Basterds. Second only to Pulp Fiction. Jamie is out-shined by the other supporting players but that's only because he's playing 'the man with no name" archetype from other Spaghetti Westerns. Leo & Jackson deliver above and beyond anything they've done in a long time. Iconic performances. Waltz is solid too. Don Johnson was absolutely hysterical. By far the best movie this year.
Saw it in theaters last night, it was absolutely packed. Pretty lengthy movie, some parts dragged on for too long. Christopher Waltz and Jamie Foxx made an absolutely entertaining duo. I'd put it on par with Inglourious. I don't know what happened more in this movie, them saying n***** or killing a white person... either way it was a lot. Definitely going to watch it again.
For me not as good as Inglorious and certainly Pulp Fiction, still an increbily entertaining and well made film, would definently reccommend. Just don't expect to see Tarantino's masterpiece here.
I'd also like to mention Kerry Washington's performance in this... Outstanding job by her, even she outshines Foxx in this...
There was a bit that could have been trimmed to streamline, I think Inglorious Basterds was constructed better. That being said, I really enjoyed it all around.
Movie was great, loved how Django went from victim to vigilante during the film. Not many movies portray the lead black actor as a hero so that was also good to see.
