The problem with Schaub is that: He's not mobile. He can't make quick decisions to make the right play when the play breaks down. When he's pressured he flops like a girl. Like someone mentioned earlier, the play has to work PERFECT for Schaub to shine. He's got subpar arm strength. Annnnnnnnnnd he's not elite.
These are all essentially the same criticism. Valid, but they're all interwoven to the tune of "he's not athletic". The noodle arm thing is getting tired. If anything, his arm is average. The offense really just isn't deep ball driven. Anybody who thinks he can't hit one is simply exercising selective memory, though.
We can argue this to death. but ON THOSE DAYS, which happens in football all the time, detroit and jax's offense played like an elite offense against us(mostly because or d had major flaws), so I don't understand how the schaub detractors use that logic to support their flawed thinking, unless schaub was lining up across calvin johnson which I missed. that lions' defense you're poking fun at almost killed state farm guy, in a game that the packers defense rescued by intercepting Stafford for a pick six . jacksonville's Defense harassed brady, knocked him down and forced 2 ints, but their offense couldn't get anything going so new england got away with the win. If the line slides their protection the way kubiak has it drawn up, schaub will get enough time. I can't tell you why Ngata was able to be contained yet fred evans was giving the o-line fits. It just happens sometimes. 12 out of 15 games the line provided consistent pass protection. the 3 games they've lost, they just had bad games. And it was not because tom brady was breathing down on Jones and Newton. last year, many of the same idiots started turning on yates during that 3 game skid to end the season. The line was having bad games, resulting in yates having little time to throw and foster was fumbling all over the place. However, the line, stepped it up come playoff time.
D*MMIT DONNY . . .THE AUDIBLE ISSUE IS MINE!!! ME and PGABS are not the same person #GETITSTRAIGHT!! Rocket River *grin*laugh*Jokes*
Tony Dungy comes to mind as well. I am on the DON'T BLAME SCHAUB BLAME KUBIAK wagon I think that Kubiak doesn't give Schaub enough rope. . . . The tight Offensive leash is not helpful While people point to WADE in Dallas I will say this . .. IMO Garrett hamstrung him for the job Wade let Romo be Romo . . . for good or bad I think that the answer is somewhere in the middle I think Schaub needs more latitude. Rocket River

Well Tom Brady and D.Mcnabb had similar horizontal offenses. Moss and TO , respectively, changed that though. It can be done. RGIII runs the same offense , meanwhile he completes bombs to guys like Hankerson (who?), Morgan (who?), and Garcon (when healthy). All pale in comparison to Andre the Giant. Not to outshine DD, but I was the one who initially mentioned Schaub's inability to audible. DD, although not here, should not bare any undo criticism.
You don't know anything about leadership on the Texans. You are speculating because they lost three games. Three games.
Schaub's leadership has been praised since Day 1. Leadership is not the problem. The Texans are struggling because the right side of the line sucks without Winston, Briesel and Dreesen. With their play last year, the other problems with the team were not so glaring and could be worked through. Schaub is getting pressed from the right side a ton and he is incapable of dealing with it. The receivers simply are not very good outside of Andre so they are not getting enough time to create separation which they have a difficult time with in the first place. Not to mention they are dropping passes. And then the running game to the right side is almost non existent. The right side of the line is the cause of all of this for me. On defense, its the terrible linebacker play. No one in the middle is there to stop the run or cover TE. And the OLBs are not getting any pressure on the QBs. Barwin in particular has been atrocious. The secondary doesn't have a weak link anymore but the QBs are getting so much time that they stand no chance.
Whose job was it to stop Ponder from running up and down our field? Schaub gets more blame than he deserves but he also plays right into the stereotype so he's not helping himself by flinching in the pocket, outside of the Denver game anyway.
great post, didn't mean to post right on top of it behind you. to the dip****s not understanding football, see rhino's post above.
List those 20 teams for me you little dip****. You're schtick is wearing thin, go come up with a new one.
3 years ago, there weren't that many talented QBs, and Schaub easily would have been in the top 10. Now with the awesome draft class of Luck, RGIII, and Wilson, added to talented 2nd year players Cam, Dalton, and Kaepernick, it has lead to Schaub falling squarely into the middle of the pack. He's 12th in Total QBR, but no one in their right mind would take him over a few statistically rated below him this year, such has Luck, Roethlisberger, Stafford, Newton, and Dalton. All of those either are better or have the potential to be better than Schaub. The QB position just got a lot more stacked the last few years.
Maybe he does, but he looks placid on the sidelines when the camera picks him up. I agree that somebody needs to get in their faces. Last week was just indescribably pathetic. I would be so embarrassed if were them. Home crowd, home field bye in the balance, and they looked disinterested. My whole life I have been pumped up for big events. I have given everything I had to win. I don't understand lackadaisical in sports or anything else.
Can we not discuss something that we know nothing about? Every single interview I have heard from Texans players in regards to Schaub is how great a leader is, how he leads by example, and how he carries himself, and how the players strive to carry themselves like Schaub. Just because he's not mic'd up on SportsCenter yelling at his players doesn't mean he's not a leader.
The QB before Schaub was mobile and had a strong arm. Would you rather have him or Schaub ? The criticism of Schaub in this town borders on r****dation. No one says **** when we win, but the minute we lose one game people want to cut him and send him into retirement.
