ubigred, you gave up before the season started solely because Matt Schaub is the QB. please just throw your stupid book away.
Shouldn't you be at the mall, loitering around at the Sketcher store? Apparently you are not. So take the time and find the posts where I said Schaub sucks. Then find the posts ,after the Packers and Patriots games, where I said he sucks. Kids = Sigh...........
Hey mac, Don't forget I still have my TEXAS sized bowl of crow on standby. I'll be in New Orleans for the Super Bowl regardless if the Texans make it or not. I just hope I can wear my AJ jersey. Despite how some of you foolishy feel, the Texans are my team. I just judge/assess the player and not the jersey. For example: Who is the best player in Texans history? AJ Who should be the first player inducted into the Texans HOF? AJ Would you build a statue for AJ? Yes, great player with immaculate character. I can also be objective and say... Who is the best reciever in the AFC? AJ Green Will he make the HOF ? No , I don't think so. Yea , I still think he can break the record. Colts have a leaky line, so hopefully we'll see plenty of salutes.
You are not super bowl contender with Schaub as your QB. Simple as that. I'd rather have Aaron Rodgers with no defense and no running game than Schaub with elite defense and running game.
You could also tell it to Drew Brees this year, or last year. It seems as though fans have been tricked by the media machine that is ESPN into thinking that you need a great QB more than a good defense or a good running game. Take this year for instance, averaging overall team defensive ranking (ppg) with overall rushing yards ranking the top 5 teams in the NFL are (avg. ranking in parenthesis): Seattle (1.5) San Fran (3.5) Chicago (5.5) Minnesota (7) Houston (8) It's not a coincidence that all of these teams are fighting for the playoffs and possible a Super Bowl appearance. But if you dig closer you'll see that the quarterbacks of these teams are RW, Colin Kaepernick, Jay Cutler, CHRISTIAN FREAKIN' PONDER, and Matt Schaub. I'm not saying their going to definitely win it all, but I am saying that you can't deny the help of a good running game and a defense.
Thats a great point, however all of this is based on the regular season. I believe that defense and running attack are required for the regular season and is a good thing to have in the playoffs. But the QB has to be able to make big plays in the playoffs if our team is to win the SuperBowl. Can Matt Schaub (the pro bowler, hahahahaha) do that in the playoffs, only time will tell.
No, Schaub fainted when he heard the news. QB Matt Schaub, Texans – Schaub is a nice player, an example of the type of quarterback you can win with when everything else around him is very good, if not excellent. The problem is that Schaub has been exposed in games when called upon to be the focus of the offense, such as during defeats to the Packers, Patriots and Vikings. He's your prototype, mistake-free quarterback who stays out of the way. That, however, doesn't exactly scream Pro Bowl. Sadly, the depth in the AFC this year isn't very strong, although Luck deserved it more than Schaub. That's way too easy. I won't even try to dismantle that weak argument.
Please try, because you can't. More names of Super Bowl QB's - Rex Grossman Matt Hasselbeck Donovan McNabb Jake Delhomme Brad Johnson LOL at anyone that says the Texans are not Super Bowl contenders with Schaub at QB.
