Lin's situation is just such that it creates an extreme of emotions on both sides. There is the fact that Houston let two talented point guards go for him, which created a lot of worry for some of the long term posters here. There is the fact that he is the only Chinese player in the NBA, and for many Chinese people he is a reminder that the stereotypes of Asians being nerdy and no good at athletics is really false. I mean how often on twitter in the early days when Lin signed for the Rockets did we hear racist Asian jokes about Lin ? There is also the fact that he is a talented young player and when any talented young player struggles for your team, it is very frustrating to watch as a fan. There is the fact that many troll fans for other teams would make fun of the Rockets for overpaying for Lin if he doesn't really play well. You can see this in the media with ESPN especially. They love building people up and then tearing them down. Every basket Lin would make today, Barry said that the Bulls need to force him to his left. Even those times when he actually went left lol ! ESPN would love nothing more than for Lin to be a bust, the same way they have now been making a lot of money on the controversy surrounding the bust Tebow. These guys are so desperate for a story that they will create it out of thin air. So there is a lot of overreaction on both sides, and I have myself been guilty of it, both when Lin played bad and when he plays good.
Dei: I thought you have better basketball IQ than that. Basketball is a team sport. LOF exisits on your mind only. Lin may be some of clutchfans' favorite player, but Lin is only one of players. My favorite Rockets players are: Harden, Lin, Asik, Parsons, Delfino, Morris, Smith, Douglas. They are not necessary in the order listed. Tell me the truth, is Lin a more popular player that caused to start this thread?
Bill Simmons suggested in his podcast that Rockets trade Lin for Jameer Nelson. Yes, ESPN is that pathetic.
Well, people have opinions (though most of the people there were LOFs). Motiejunas is the future - this I'm putting my eggs in. So, you can call me out on this if he doesn't pan out.
Dei is like that annoying homeless old lady who keeps spitting at people and screaming "a$$holes". she gets taken down, slapped a few times and when ppl start to feel sorry for her, she gets right back up and continue to spit and call people "a$$sholes".
The Roxx just blew away another quality defensive team The Bulls by 20+ points, scoring 120 at their own court. They have been doing this to the best defensive teams lately. Folks, stop trashing Jeremy Lin. Linsanity II + Beardsanity is the new show in town and just the beginning. This is just a new and super young team playing together for less than 30 games, with none of the starers over 3 years experiences in NBA and they are making waste of some of the best teams. Linsanity II + Beardsanity are the real deal.
Watch out for Linsanity II + Beardsanity and the gangs. They now make it a habit of steam rolling over the best defensive and quality teams. Amazingly they are still so very young in age and only play for slightly more than 2 dozen games together. This is another amazing story for Disney movies. LOL.
hey dei you should like this one -" jeremy lin is not that fast " <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/gSwXuSquDjQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I am really liking this team now , the teammates are really gelling and helping each other out. No selfish playin. Hopefully we will stop counting the stats and start counting wins.
Dei: You going to like this one. The Rockets at Bulls Christmas game announcer said, Lin has a "deceptive quickness." May be you can start a thread with "deceptive joke?":grin::grin:
So what's wrong with Dei not being sold on Lin until he proves himself? You guys are overly sensisitive.
1. There is a difference between "not being sold on" someone until he proves himself and prematurely declaring a guy to be "a joke" based on a small sample size of cold shooting games. 2. If the OP indeed wished to only "separate LOF from real Rockets fans," this thread is a miserable attempt at it. Pretty much every non-stupid person thought negatively of this premature declaration of Lin's unworthiness. Note that plenty of people who joined the BBS years before Lin's signing think little of the OP. If one wants to "separate LOF from Rockets fans," the way to do it is by making an objective post about Lin's performance and dispute conspiracy theories about coaches supposedly hating Lin. durvasa, for example, does a great job at this on the "Free Jeremy Lin" thread. All that the OP does is separating himself from non-ass clown voters. 3. The OP denies his similarity to the infamous DaDakota, but he is exhibiting every classic symptoms of DaDa-ism: (1) Make post to start an argument, (2) reacts badly to criticism, would not admit error, (3) accuse critics of "stalking" him and misinterpreting his message, (4) keep on posting the same "defense" of his supposedly brilliant prior posts over and over and wouldn't let a lost argument go, while (5) loudly wondering why the thread keeps going. 4. People also tend to think little of the OP for making other LOL-worthy threads (why we no play DMo? why we no pay Parsons?).
