I will never understand posting like this. We have seen Jones play all of 80 minutes in the NBA and this blanket statement is just plain disrespectful to the organization, to Jones and to the game. Respect the process.
Maybe good guy Daryl Morey sent him to d-league so Jones wouldn't have to travel to Chicago for Christmas.
So is Jones in the doghouse for some reason? During the Memphis game they emptied the bench and everyone got to play except for Jones. I thought Jones was supposed to be more NBA ready than Dmo?
Please tell me who else was going to play the 3 last year besides Parsons or Budd. Yes Mchale played a rookie but a lot of that had to do with only having 2 SFs on the entire roster.
I'm saying Mchale played a rookie when he didn't have any other real option. Who else was going to play the 3 besides Budd? Parsons got minutes based on need and showed he was a quality player. It's hard to show how good you are from the bench.
To begin the season, Terrence Williams played the 3 off the bench. http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/201112260ORL.html Marcus Morris also got some minutes before Parsons did. Parsons showed his worth in practice.
I am aware of them trying Williams but Parons was getting in on those early minutes too. Go check the game logs for Parsons. He got quality minutes from the get go. As far as Williams goes, that guy was a head case that wasn't willing to work with anybody and is already out of the league because of it. McHale basically had to choose between giving the minutes to two rookies and Parsons won the job. I'm not even arguing that McHale should be playing the rookies but I do disagree with the thinking that Parsons is proof that he has nothing against playing them. I consider that to be much more of a lack of options situations than anything.
I'm hoping they keep Terrence in RGV for at least 5 games this time. He needs to be competing often. Dominating the Dleague will help his confidence. Terrence is the answer at 4. We don't need to trade for anyone. We need to develop what we have. Marcus is a good filler and I'm happy with his play, but he's not the long-term answer at pf. Pat's a nice guy, but he needs to be coming off the bench. Let TJ excel in Dleague for a few weeks then bring him back up and gradually work him into the rotation.
All rookies are getting time on both squads. Its a balancing act. Nobody is in trouble or in a doghouse.... well except one guy, but he's really not worth talking about. The Rockets are a hot team right now that isn't going to be making any drastic changes by adding another big in the rotation. Jones, D-Mo, and Machado will all be going back and forth throughout the season. So get used to it. However, there usually is some kind of move come trade deadline that allows rookies to get more rotation minutes in past years. I wouldn't be shocked if at least 1 or 2 of the Rockets bigs get moved. Aldrich is almost certain to be moved at the very least.
