They could be like the Targaryens, she could be a sister-wife.

Yes, the whole family owns the team.

Based on some of the decisions the Kings have made over the past decade, it would not be surprising if inbreeding was the culprit...

    1. It is broken. If we aren't contending the team is broken and needs to be fixed.

    2. Asik is one of our oldest players. He's been used solely for his big body and defense playing for an excellent organization in the Chicago Bulls. Cousins has a similar frame, is much younger with greater potential, and has been playing for a poor organization that doesn't bring out the best defensive effort in Sacramento. Cousins can be a better defender. He has the tools. Houston is an organization that can get the best out of him.

    3. The point is to win. We have a star player in Harden who has a limited window in which the team can build around and win championships. If their development makes us better in the term of say 1 to 3 years, then it's worthwhile, but if the opportunity arises to get a guy who can move you closer to winning a championship within the window we're looking at, you move. Developing our young bigs could take a very long while.

    4. He's on his rookie contract making about $4 million per year for this year and the next. If he doesn't perform, we don't sign him in free agency, and we'd still have cap space if we traded for him. Your point here is entirely baseless.

Cousins is very overrated. His shooting even around the basket is just atrocious. FG% is just 41%. Last year it was mediocre in fact it was in the bottom 10% for his position. He is a decent rebounder but many of those are his own missed shots so it is misleading. Pass.

Yes, yes, I still remember when Old Man Asik played for the Turkish National Team and then started his NBA career.

Barack Obama was the President of the United States, and a young Lady Gaga was tearing up the charts with "Bad Romance."

I remember it like it was just two years ago.

The Kings must choose between this tote bag I got from PBS and this unopened package of Funyuns. Note that the Funyuns don't seem to have an expiration date printed anywhere on the bag.

    Choose wisely.

Well considering his potential at a ROOKIE contract. Not to mention his trade value is at an all time low.
Rox could easily have him and STILL have enough cap space for another all star.

    How bout,

    Rox - Cousins, Singelton
Kings - Morris, Aldridge, 2nd round pick from Wiz,
    Wizards - Douglas,

I'm conflicted on this one. I'm excited with how the team is progressing but none of the 4s we have at the moment show the upside that cousins has. I would hate to give up a piece like Morris, Smith, or Dmo and see them blossom elsewhere. On the other hand, this organization seems to do a great job at milking the most out of its starters and I do have faith that if there were a place cousins could succeed it would be here. I have a really bad feeling that we'll pass up the opportunity to buy low on this guy and regret it later. The guy is 22...

I want to see people in this thread admit that, at least currently and maybe moving forward, Greg Smith is a better player than Cousins.

Greg Smith is playing better than Cousins and isn't as high as risk as Cousins who could easily be out of the league in a few years. Cousins, on the other hand, has a much higher upside. If your goal is to win a championship instead of just hover around in the first and second round of the playoffs, then you have to take some risks - if you're not the Lakers, of course.

On the other hand, I wouldn't trade much for him. Give the Kings Morris and Jones, take on Salmons' bad contract, and that would pretty much be it.

That team is a mess and the players have even commented on the horrible coaching. Demarcus Cousins can be a great player and this league, just needs better coaching and mentoring, which the Kings are not giving him.

If we want to have a future, we need players like him. This current team is very fun, but doesn't have much potential.

Skill set, body types, abilities, etc. Cousins has shown flashes of greatness, putting up huge numbers in the 2011-2012 season at certain periods.

    1. We aren't contending? Did you EXPECT us to contend this year? Honestly going into this season, even after the Harden trade, what exactly were you expecting?

    2. Asik is 26, I'm not too worried about his age, especially if Greg Smith continues transforming into a BEAST. If we continue to split minutes between both of them, I can see us getting a lot of good years out of Asik.

Why are you so confident that Houston can fix Cousins? Does Houston have a great track record of dealing with headcases? Let's ask Royce White that.

    3. Adding Cousins would not make us contenders this year or next. Even with Cousins, teams like the Clippers, Thunder and Heat would still be light years ahead of us.

Developing our bigs would take time, but let's ask Greg Smith how things have been working out for him this season.

    4. I know he's young, but how many NBA stars can you think of that started out as head cases and became studs? For every one you can name, I can name at least 10 guys who had short NBA careers.

If he doesn't work out then we don't sign him, but we would have given up some draft picks and young prospects for nothing. We don't know what we'd get, but we absolutely know that there is potential for some very bad results.

This is my take, we are a young team that is laying down the foundations to be a contender. We don't need offense and I'd rather have the proven D of Asik then the potential (based on what exactly?) D of Cousins.

Young teams need time and the stability to grow. Let's give it to them. Team chemistry is too important to risk on someone like Cousins. Again we have no idea what Cousins would do to this team, but why take the risk?

I am falling in love with this high-pace Houston Rockets team, and so is the rest of the country. Let's just enjoy it for now and see what happens in the off-season.

    Just say NO to Cousins.

In all honesty, do you guys really think he's even gonna get traded this year? After his 1-game "indefinite" suspension, I really don't think the Kings know what they are doing.

unless you have a coach who knows how to handle him (phil jackson, greg pop, etc...) then he's gonna stay crazy. if he gets his act together, he'd be an all star.
