We had a big gathering of Rockets fans for game 7. We thought it would be a Mario Elie kiss of death or any other Rockets classic game 7s.

W to the R to the O to the N to the G

you know what topped that game 7? the game 7 against Utah.

Tmac is part of the worst game 7s in Rockets playoff history.

i've talked before and after tmac. how many seasons did he play for the rockets? (play meaning being on the roster, because we know he couldn't play a full season, and sometimes half)

The good years Tmac had in Houston was great. All the magic he did with the basketball was amazing. Overall, Tmac was a great player. Even though his last few years in Houston was bad and the Rockets traded him, it made a lot of fans forget about what he meant to Houston.

I think because of his injuries in the later years, it really got to him mentally and really frustrated him because he couldn't do the things he once did. I think it really took all the drive and motivation out of him because he was such a big time star in Houston.

The good years Tmac and Yao had in Houston was short. Though both players were great in their own rights, I believe many was expecting so much out of them. With so high expectations but different result, it gave mix feelings to many fans. Tracy ending with Houston was not pretty. I wished he had a stronger mentality but he was never strong mentally. But I think that it wasn't fair to Tracy because the expectations of him was way too high, even with all the talents he had, it wasn't enough to satisfy the fans in Houston.

Yes he was but we all have to be honest with ourselves... We all had such high expectations from Tracy but at the end, his talents was more suited for regular season, not the playoffs.

Never he promised me great things. Nothing great happened with him here. And he is a quitter.

I can understand Tinman's reason and feeling toward Tmac.

This is Christmas. Just have to remember what Abe said,

"With malice toward none, with charity for all, ...let us strive on to finish the work we are in, ...to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations."

Let's go forward and wish the Rockets make the playoff.

    Merry Christmas, everyone!

Even mentioning Kobe and the Lakers in regards to TMac is an insult to Kobe, Los Angeles, and Houston.

Both he and Yao brought excitement and disappointment to the team. When "healthy," both shows flashes of greatness. TMac and Kobe were common discussions/arguments. Yao going off for 20 in a half, having nearly perfect shooting games, dominating and learning to be aggressive was truly a joy to watch.

Then there were their injuries, Yao's turnovers, his lack of aggression, Tracy's reluctance to drive to the cup.

It was up and down with the guys. People always mention one or the other. To me, I can't separate them, although they tended to be on the court together what seemed like never.

LOL you T-Mac haters will always resort to this. You fail to look at the big picture in WHY he never advanced past the first round. Instead you place the blame squarely on him.

    I'm sorry tinman, I really am. I honestly didn't realize basketball was a 1 on 5 sport.

It is TMac's attitude (see Raptors clip as exhibit A) which soured the fans. Compare him to Yao (who is arguably as big a disappointment). We all still love Yao because he worked his ass off and there were never any doubts about his attitude. TMac is a mega-talented sulker.

McGrady fans love and identify with McGrady because :

    1. they feel entitled
    2. they believe they deserve something, they don't believe in earning anything
    3. when the going gets tough, they decide to leave
    4. make excuses for his failures, probably making excuses for their failures too

the only difference between McGrady and his fans , besides a 25 year age difference, is that McGrady is a rich NBA player with basketball talent.
Their minds and heart are the same.

I think McGrady fans are definitely NOT rockets fans.

Rockets fans have seen players EARN their GLORY like Moses Malone and Olajuwon.

look at this post, it's just the truth:

Again his mind wanted to play but his body was nowhere near 90 percent even.
This is all history. attitude was not the problem ... it was rather his common sense, his motivation for basketball...which is still better than what TWill and White produced so far
He failed at working out and getting himself healthy. And his D got worse from his Raptor days because almost all offense came from him later on

So tell me why the Rockets org is cherishing his contribution and putting him in the All Decade team 2000-2010?
You are just hating on part of those Rocket fans which totally sucks.

Because for almost 20 years there were no Olajuwon or Moses.
Fans still watch games in those years.

If I ever meet Daryl Morey, I'm going to thank him.

    1. getting James Harden, that was dope
    2. dumping Tracy McGrady to New York

Actually Knicks getting mcgrady was great for Linsanity. With that money the Knicks saved by dumping Tracy Mcgrady, they got Amare and Carmelo.

because those dudes got hurt, Lin was able to play.

I'll ask Morey if he popped some champagne after he dumped Tracy.

What's the difference between Tmac not wanting to play and Hakeem requesting for a trade?

Ring is not a team accomplishment?

Finals MVP is not a team accomplishment? Seems not, but actually yes.
If you do not agree on this one, please name one finals MVP who did not come from the finals Champion team in the past 40 years.

They are team accomplishment, and at the same time, they are individual accomplishment too.
